Revisited this album and this line stuck out for me and I wonder how it operates
Is Kanye calling out the duality of perception in that no matter who you are THEY will always see you as less and at the same time no matter where you are YOU will be mentally caged by that limitation.
Then going further I think about how I grew up hearing this from some disenfranchised black people and I wonder how that operates for them.
Is the sentiment used the same way as a Kanye uses it, or is it also used in a way to limit ones own self to attempt to participate in society?
Not sure if this makes sense but that line definitely got me thinking today
