"QOD: Do you ever live out of your dryer or clothes basket?" Wed Apr-29-15 01:14 PM by Case_One
I swear I have folding clothes, but I also dislike having wrinkled clothes too. Still, over the last two weeks my dry has functioned as my clothes dispenser..

Bad thing is the whole house is mine. I even have two full drawers of unfolded clothes...I just had to give away three large bags full of shirts n shit just because it's too many in there, and most are only for sleeping in or working out...or undershirts. I hang up all my shirts I actually wear out in public, for the most part. But those full drawers been having clothes in em for 2-3 years now.
I fold clothes like once every 2-3 months, if that, and it'll only be the most recent clothes I wash.
I've gotten better about it, as I'm not good about putting away my socks and boxers and hanging my jeans/khakis, but for some reason I fucking hate putting away my t-shirts. Might be because my dresser is a bit crowded, but it's so fucking annoying.

Dude, I'm a stay at home mom and if I could get away with it all the clothes would stay in clothes baskets. But that's my ADD talking. So I'm trying to do better by washing and folding clothes and put them away every day.

Not all of it. I buy clothing and/or do laundry just about every day. It's a never ending cycle. Sigh. I ironed and put away clothes for about 4 hours Tuesday. Eventually I hit the point where I could barely close my personal closet door and everything listed online was in the office closet so I was like well think that's enough.

Where I live clothes dryers are rarely used, line drying is the preferred method. Because of the small size of the washers here, clothes have to be laundered everyday then hung outside to dry. Though currently its pollen season so clothing is hung inside in a spare room and a portable device that is part dehumidifier and part air blower is employed to dry the clothes.
Big change from the U.S. , though I will say my clothes seem to last longer by not using a traditional clothes dryer. And an extra plus using the sun to dry clothes is the UV kills bacteria.
Futons here are put out in the sun at least once a week or a few times a week, try that with a traditional mattress in the U.S. , lol
Keeps things much fresher without question. Line drying saves a ton a ton on the electric bill and the solar panels on the roof keep the costs down as well by selling the spare electricity back to the power company. I can't wait until the solar power storage systems become more affordable, can start living off the grid a few times a week perhaps more.
