I've been trying to coordinate with friends for the past few weeks over drinks. Sometimes I propose a place/time sometimes they do. But for me their times have always been too late, if I can start at 430-530 I'm good. When they start proposing 6:00-7:30 I have to bail out. Just different life schedules at the moment.

we just got a couple of odd new coworkers and i might have to get a shot and a beer just to see how it'll all plays out with all these strangers drinking together.

i'd planned on ditching them, im a home drinker.

if it's a light day i'll start at 5/5:30 but if i'm busy i try and have a drink in my hand by 6:30

but thing is with HH that can last a while drink wise
and may move onto dinner and more drinks

if i go out drinking after work and i'm in by 10, that's a good night

earlier is better but 10 is still reasonable

if i gotta get to my car and then drive somewhere outside the city or in a strange spot within the city, i'm not gettin there til 6pm or a little after.

the best spots are the ones with the 4-7pm HH specials...

Downtown is like the meat packing district and or soho used to be in NYC. Low brick warehouse buildings, some modern industrial buildings mixed in, hip restaurants, craft cocktail bars, artist spaces, bookstores, vintage and antique shops. The cool girls wear vintage rather than louboutins in part cause a lot of the streets are still cobblestone.

it started. I can head down to DC and be in a nice bar by 5:15 when I don't feel like the B'more scene. On a day like today, open the roof up and just ride.

I'm able to leave my job right at 5:00 most days. If someone wants to meet at like 7:00 I either have to stay at work much longer to kill time, or head home for an hour or two. But if I head home first it's a wrap. I lose all my momentum and end up getting tired, and I usually punk out.

Black Swan in Brooklyn, for example, has happy till 8pm, and then another happy hour from 1am until 4am. Those situations are great for me, because getting off at 5pm is laughable at my organization. Even our departmental happy hours start at 6pm or later.
