"Can anybody design me a simple logo? "


  

          

Needs to be small, and black & white, able to be printed and minimal file size.
Theme is architectural/design related.
Will be applied to the border of construction documents and possibly business cards.

or...point me to the best software to use so that I can design my own?

I use it to polish up charts and graphs (kinda like photoshop).

I'm sure a real graphic artist has some advice on what to do.

I've used them in a pinch when needing design stuff. If you can wade through the language barriers for some of the people, you can get some good work for only $5. If you need it quickly, those are usually extras.

Streets won't let me chill.
