That's all by design. Until that quick glimpse and this trailer the Star Wars team have been VERY secretive. You will get the random Twit pick of the M. Falcon, but it's been very controlled in terms of rumors and news....
This trailer will get the general public to start talking once they see it on the big screen....These are the folks who don't go to the fan sites and Latino Review to find out about SW spoilers....Trust....

the ONLY concern is that the longterm strategy (standalone movies, tv shows, more disneyland/world rides, toys) *might* be affected if there is any negative reaction to this first post-lucas swing
but, it might very well be a can't fail property at this point because you have a couple of generations of folks who kinda seem in no matter what

If it's a good movie, it will make $250 to $300 million. If it's a greater than 90% Rotten Tomatoes banger, it would approach $400 million.

Nah...even if it's a bad movie it will still make WELL over $400 million....It's Star Wars...Damn a bad taste...lol

after seeing him in interview after interview being a smart ass. Then him escaping death not to long ago after crashing his plane. Yeah he is Han Solo.

So this trailer seems to confirm some of the rumored spoilers that are out there (a good chunk of the plot is on makingstarwars.net.)
Spoilers:
Looks like it's true that Luke is essentially in exile at this time. Cool that he has R2 with him. His lightsaber getting handed to Leia also confirms that his missing saber (which used to be his father's and he lost in Empire Strikes Back in Cloud City) being found is what kicks off the plot. I believe the rumor is that Rey finds it on Tatooine...was that her handing it to Leia? When she's rushing in her speeder is that after having found it? We also still don't know who she is - if she is Han and Leia's daughter or not. Probably so since they are still hiding her last name in the cast list.
The downed star destroyer and x-wing look like they've been there a LONG time. Half buried in sand and I also noticed that x-wing is the old original trilogy design and not the updated version that we see them flying in the trailer. Maybe this is from right after ROTJ, when the Rebel Alliance was cleaning up the remains of the Empire?
I noticed there is a new imperial seal, so whoever the "Empire" is at this point is a different entity. They also changed seals when going from the Republic to the Empire after ROTS.
I'll have to watch again to see if there are any other clues...
