"Are girls more expensive than boys? "

I'm having a girl..

the other week we were out buying clothing from a consignment sale and the girls clothing was way more expensive. Granted, the shit was much cuter but dammit, it was expensive.

At the time we were buying gender neutral clothing because we didnt know the sex but now that we do..

I'm scared.

At least your bathrooms won't smell like Piss all the time because your boys can't aim.

I think it's all cheaper than mixed sex kids.

yes later on. girls need dress AND pants. most boys only need pants. girls will tend to have a wider variety of clothing types. but it really depends on how you want them to look in the post newborn years.

plus you got hair that might be a cost center for girls where as boys can either get a cut from Papa or something less that 20 bucks at the barber shop.

Y'all buy those labels, I was born supreme

I have 2 boys and every time we go shopping for them, it seems like the girls stuff is 1) always in abundance.. girls clothes would take up most of the kids section and the boys clothes would be somewhere in the corner and 2) always cheaper.. we went to get some clothes for my niece for her birthday and they seem to have more stuff on sale versus the boys

BUT I do find that with girls you tend to buy a lot more stuff because it's cheaper plus you buy other stuff with it like accessories and stuff

So in the end you probably end up spending the same

Question though..

I hear a lot talk that girls can get away with the cheap stuff where as the boys really can't, What's the thinking behind that? is it that some boys tend to be rougher with their clothes? idk?

because we shower them with loads of stuff and there's more to choose from than boys but it gets cheaper as they get older because they get into cheap trends. My daughters always trying to get duplicates of something she already has so I make her do polyvores/collages before we shop. I shop big for her at the beginning of school and then going into warmer months.

My son hates shopping so his clothes and shoes are long term investments, more expensive but less frequent because he's basically grown at 19
For him, I shop big going into colder months and for special occasions.

As your daughter grows, seasons can be your guide to get more bang for your buck.. Buy summer clothes in winter and winter clothes in summer. Send her to schools that require uniforms and order them all online at old navy lol Try to anticipate growth spurts based on you and daddy's genetics.. Also, tax free season is somewhere around august I think.

Congratulations!

-Unless you got a good touch up and fade game, there's the barber shop (I do, so I minimize this cost). Momma can do the girls hair until she's close to pre-teen if need be.

-Shoes are neutral in cost UNTIL they go play. If you spend on boy shoes, what you do on girl shoes, you'll be replacing the boy shoes more often so might as well buy something name brand that will last longer for the boy.

-Boys tend to grow faster, so you'll be buying replacement clothes/shoes more often.

-Boys eat more...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more. And when they get into sports...smh.

The only expenses I could see carrying more for my girl than my boy (she's the older one by the way) are self inflicted; more accessories, various options of clothing items/shoes. That's usually their moms' fault...gotta be 'cute with options' (dress/skirt/blouse-spring, casual, formal options for each, t-shirt, stockings, leggings, jeans, casual pants, shorts). While my son gets, t-shirt with cartoon design and jeans/shorts, polo and khakis/button up/sweater or jumpsuit.

We probably buy them clothes at the same rate but his are mostly due to growth, hers are due to options.
