if he files suit claiming he suffered damages b/c the police used excessive force in subduing and arresting him he might get some satisfaction. i think he has a colorable claim at least.

but looking at that video even knowing the facts as reported in the attached article i still think homie has a decent excessive force claim. w/more investigation i might feel differently. or not. i dunno.

but use of THAT force may not be. it just looks reckless to me as i watch the video today. b/c i don't know that cop was trained to use his squad car to take down a suspect in that manner in that situation. if the cop driving that squad car was so trained then i might feel differently.

Loaded gun. Already let off a few shots. Assuming these facts are true (video link?), he put himself out there.
The way they neutralised him was highly unorthodox and graphic but it worked. He went up in the air like a rag doll though. I would much rather they shot him. The optics is kinda messed up. Flagrant.
Ps did the cop disregard orders to stay away? Not sure if I understood the radio chatter.

i dont have a problem with the use of force. but there were less reckless options on the table in terms of conflict resolution.
that just seemed like a complete disregard for his OWN safety and department property. suspect could have easily turned and put a few rounds through the windshield. or the cop coulda suffered injury from the crash.
you could clearly hear the closest car in pursuit telling other cars to hang back. that seemed like more advisable/standard protocol while they reassess the situation and come up with the best option.
