Wow I remember reading a couple of his posts in the Lesson. I do remember him saying that he was sick a while back. I am sorry to hear that he is no longer with us

didn't know him in real life obviously--but i could tell he was good people by how he wrote about music. rip man..

He was always very nice, and never got caught up in the trash talking that sometimes overtakes threads. Hell, he didn't even talk bad about music he didn't like - he'd just keep his opinion to himself and spend his time chatting up the music he loved. I didn't know him really well, but we had a couple of convos here about music in the past - anything from Field Mob to Pavement.

His terrible spelling used to crack me up, but it wouldn't be a Menpheyl7 post without it.

Very sad for his daughter, I remember him posting about her numerous times. I hope she understands how her Dad felt about her.

Cancer is evil....straight up....RIP to a truly good person.....

For whatever reason, I always noticed his extra positive outlook. Probably because it was different than mine and I always told him that he "likes everything" as far as music goes.

It just seemed like he always found a way to appreciate something which is something I don't do.

And I truly appreciated that about him.

I talked to him for a year on the phone and never thought we would meet since he was in SC but as luck had it his family reunion was in Chicago the next year so we walked from the Palmer House Hilton where he was staying to Navy Pier, just me and a cousin of his, talking and cracking up.

We stayed friends and I even showed him and his daughter around last summer in DC when the family reunion made it here.

He was skinnier but still his hilarious self. His daughter looked exactly like him and was such a sweetheart.

Man. This is heartbreaking for me.
