It's like, she's very musically inclined, yet doesn't know how to make it connect or appeal.
She can come up with amazing album cuts for sure, but many of her songs seem to almost use too many influences.
She's "too qualified" to water it down and make a fake 7-11, which this is...or to get Mustahdowndabeet, hoe. But...she doesn't know how to make a hit in the vein of say, Miguel "Adorn"...or "Uptown funk," or "Love on top"...all songs which wouldn't be out of the range for her style.
As someone such as Double-0 may have said before, maybe she needs different writers/producers?

As cheesy as folks say Uptown funk is, it's light years ahead of Tightrope

I think these songs were all a lot different from Love on top, and I'd say these may be the best three songs that she has. They were dope, even if they didn't push her over the edge. And I love the Go-Go version of Electric lady.
