I'm against a Clinton presidency and also a Democratic Party backing her. I dislike the idea of triangulation. Where as the Republican Party is honing in on who they are and represent, I'm confused on what the core values of the Democratic Party are.

Without a populist appeal or one that addresses the militarization of the police force, or a party that tries to run the country from a top down approach rather than embrace and build a foundation up a local level, I'm pretty much unimpressed.

In response to Reply # 17

No politician is perfect, but everything you stated is true for the current field. Martin has staked a position on expanding social security and not advocating for "third way" politics.

Meanwhile a return of Hillary begins a retrread of ideas and individuals that led to marginzalization of Al Gores and Howard Deans while promoting insiders that wouldn't have taken this country in the direction that we ended up.

Her cabinet would've been, and would be worse than what we have. And additionally we'd be further entrenched fighting down when we should be fighting up.

We need someone that embraces ideas of expansion and inclusion on all levels to build a party. Not a squad that's just itching to get their old jobs back.

I know her big negative is how green she is. But at this point I want someone green in the white house. While they still think they can make a change. Before they have been corrupted by 20 years of politics. Its sad the dems have no one else to run.

I don't agree with any candidate on everything.

But I'm anti obamacare. I think it was just a huge gift for insurance companies to say everyone has to sign up with one and give them hundreds a month. I needed to spend $2000 on dental expenses this year on top of other medical expenses. I wouldn't have had it if I had been paying hundreds a month in insurance premiums and my expenses would have been the same since i wouldn't have met a deductible.

I could use the money I'm putting in my retirement savings, but if something catastrophic happens I'm better off having tens of thousands in savings (and I do) so I can pay my rent and living expenses. Medical insurance isn't going to cover that. It would make sure the doctors and hospital got paid while I was homeless.

I also don't think she's honest or good under pressure. I thought it was easier to use one cell phone just my blackberry was a gotdamn lie. the republicans released video of her talking about having an iPhone in addition to the blackberry. Her tone was so patronizing at that press conference. During the Benghazi hearings she also snapped while explaining why that embassy wasn't given the extra protection they requested. I just don't think she's the right leader.,

I'm hoping we have more democrats get in the race.

Think of who the Republican will put in their Cabinet. Who they'll nominate for federal judge positions. Think of which donors they will owe. Who will have their ear?

If you don't like Hillary you likely like the ppl she will work with. If you like the Republican you will probably not like many of the ppl they work with.

The differences are pretty crucial, really. The sides are quite polarized.

fuck you.

our so-called imperial presidency and de facto patronage system almost guarantees that the president can't maintain influence or control over the administration of policy in every federal branch, bureau, and agency. i mean, sometimes that works out for the best--we'd rather have technocracy than a dictatorship (case in point, Obama played a major role in building Elizabeth Warren's national profile, despite the fact that he's to the right of her on a number of issues)--but that doesn't always work in the interest of the public good (the DOJ's Civil Rights Division under Bush, for instance).

So say your state decides that it wants to fight against gay marriage for the next five years. That's more money coming out of your state's pockets.

After that they attack social programs. The autism funding that the Illinois governor just struck out was saving $7 for every $1 that it was spending.

Whether we like it or not we exist in a society and not a vacuum. If our neighbors are struggling we're struggling.

I think she is going to be a horrible candidate and will do that god awful cackle or snap anytime someone presses her on an issue.

She comes across like "how dare you question me, just give me the crown" and that is why she lost last time.

but she is still better than a republican

the fact that she's is at the very end?

Sheesh.

If she has some good plans and doesn't have a Black democratic opponent to patronize, she'll take it I think. Her Obama-jabbing did her in last time around.

honestly, i will only be voting for her because she will likely be the democratic option.
i hope she reveals herself to be much more inspiring than i think she isn't.

most anti-climatic announcement in presidential candidacy history.

im voting for her because its bigger than her.

its the right to put another 1 or 2 supreme court justices on that wont reverse the ACA and make millions lose their insurance.

its about continuing to balance the economy less on the back of the middle class and keeping us out of unnecessary wars. Id hate to see a Repub president with a Repub congress. If that happens, you can bet we will be in another full scale war with Iran by 2018 and there will be troop surges in Afghanistan for sure. Its going to be a mess.

she wont be perfect and she will make mistakes but i think she is clearly the better of the two options for middle class america.

Plus she'll have Bubba to bounce ideas off of.

Give him a job make him in charge of WH staff lol.

I mean I'll take her over Jeb Fucking Bush but I'm not going to waste any mental energy on this campaign or pretending like it matters.

She looks so out of place with her crazy, severe politician helmet do and Star Trek inspired jacket.

I mean yeah^^^^^to all this. I'm not even a huge fan of Hill Dawg....But anyone on that "I'm not voting for this broad because (fill in the blank) deserves to be beaten with a switch and laughed at...

Politics is grown folks business...This ain't high school...There are serious ramifications to who wins in 2016....

You can start with the power too choose who sits on the Supreme Court and work your way down....

If you believe in not having a party in office that wants to take fundamental rights away from tax paying Americans (No hyperbole...the GOP's base don't believe in a leveled economic playing field, a woman's right to choose, African American concerns, or leaving gays the fuck alone...) then you vote for H. Clinton...

Hill Dawg might be all cozy with Wall Street but she is too smart to buck that center left base...Hell, she even trying to pull a page out of Elizabeth Warren's playbook now....

To me the choice is simple. U don't have to like Clinton...Hold your fucking nose at the poll even. But you should know what time it is....

I'm still puzzled by the buzz given to Rubio's presidential run...

Wasn't it just a few months ago that the GOP base and its powerbrokers were laughing (and giving the middle finger) to dude because of his vanilla views on immigration?

And now that dude flipped his stance to appease the GOP's anti-brown obsessions how is that going to play out to courting the Latino vote?

The whole Rubio lovefest is just weird.....

She's a woman AND Latino. Let's them check both of those boxes and nominally appeal to both of those voting blocks.

It doesn't matter if Susana has the same views on immigration as her party....The GOP's platform on brown folks crushes them...It would be the same as using Rubio as a prop for Latino inclusion and understanding....

Putting lipstick on a pig....And given the most recent polls about how Latinos feel about Rubio (his own numbers are quite low) and the GOP, it don't look good for them on that front...

I know that Rubio and Martinez aren't impressing Latino voters with their seriously anti-immigration stances, but this is the party that thought putting Sarah Palin on the ticket would earn them female votes. They like the appearance, even when it clashes violently with reality.

Naming either one would also make Hilary make one of the Castro's her VP candidate. But she was probably going to do that anyway.

She can't look like she's not appealing to the Latino population, even if Rubio or Martinez are jokes.

50. "unless one of them changes residency, won't happen"
In response to Reply # 30

because of an antiquated rule that says that electors in the EC can't vote for a president and vice president who both share the same state as the electors. inconsequential if both are from, say, Vermont, but a large state like Florida could force a split ticket where we end up with President Jeb Bush and VP Julian Castro (assuming a close election). Cheney even changed his residency back to Wyoming (from Texas) so as to not run afoul of the rule. 12th amendment, son!
