We used to have this dude that would sell bags of food from a local store named Henry's, which was basically our Trader Joes. His fee was always the same no matter what he gave us:
Twenty dollars, a glass of water, and a cigarette. In return we got all kinds of good shit from steaks, sausages, deli meats and cheeses, cookies, juice, etc.
I always wondered how he did it but never asked. Or cared lol.

Dumpster diving was ruled out when we checked the due dates.. Further, fresh meat looks and smells different fr8m meat that's been left out even a few hours.
I know what the possibilities and probabilities are, I just don't know specifically.
