So I finally started my new job yesterday. They actually bumped up my pay after my entrance interview!

How about, a company I've been applying to for years finally called me yesterday?
I'm going to schedule an interview too, but if they can't meet my current pay, I'll stay where I am.

Man I'm so grateful. I've never had things go this well before. So I'm trying to focus on
enjoying these moments and working hard to make them count, rather than worrying about messing it up somehow.

If I stay the course, I could be out of this town, this state, next year.


I think I'll be leaving my bff behind though. You guys know him as Mr. L, or "Terry."
We're amazing as friends, so despite our awful breakup... it feels good to just be platonic with him.
But. He's not doing any better with his depression. He's back to staying in bed all day.
I'm not staying behind for him, so it looks like our plans to leave together and
buffer our first year with split rent is not going to happen. I'll keep hoping and praying for him though.

i don't. it stresses me out even when things are good.

i miss not having to worry about finances. i truly enjoy my work and just want to focus on the work itself. the writing, the strategizing, etc. but all this BS admin/forecasting shit is just a buzzkill.

i flip flop between telling myself it's ok and u can't like every part of business..but i also feel that in order to have long term success, you kinda have to live, breathe and get life from growing ur own biz, right?

what a week.

I have a older brother i had never seen but knew about from my mom who told me about 15 years ago. My father who is deceased, had a son about 20 years before i was born and apparently left the mom and never claimed him. Ffwd to this week when my mom reaches out to my mom's cousin who grew up with my brother. I give my permission for my mom to give my cousin Jadie my number to give to my brother in for him to reach out to me. In the meantime, my cousin Jadie texts my mom a picture of him and my brother who i hadnt ever seen to that point. He looks EXACTLY like my dad. Even more than i do. So that was about 5 days ago when i gave my number to be passed on to my brother and i haven't heard from him yet. And to be honest i cant blame him. I dont know what happened between his mother and my father but whatever it was, i wouldn't blame him from not reaching out to the kid he had after him. Id probably feel some type of way too.

My mom's side of the family is hitting some hard times due self inflicted laziness and negligence and they are trying to use my mom to deal with their bullshit. My uncle is a fucking bum whose almost 60 and cant get hisself together. My family has tried to help him out for the last 15 years and every time he disappears for some time and shows up playing the victim. He's been living off assistance so much, he has used up his lifetime maximum aid he can be given. And he's not 60 yet. His pastor dropped him off at my mom's house, which has been his safe haven for a spell about 10 times a year for the past 15 years. My mother has finally got tired of him and he has to leave the house when she goes out because she doesn't trust him in her house when she leaves. I told him he has 2 days to find a place and he must leave. Im done with this fool.

My mom's sister is losing her house because she refused to pay $4000 in taxes and her house went up in a tax sale. Before this, the bank had already forgiven the last $15,000 of the loan and told her they don't want to repossess the house. The person who bought it through the tax sale wants her and my uncle out by June. She asked my mom if she and my uncle move in with her by June. Now my mom's house isn't that big and my aunt is, for lack of a better word, a bum who has no shame putting her burdens on other people. She has 2 sons, my cousins, and she asked my mom if >I< had the $4000 to help her out even though she probably has about $10000 worth of stuff in her basement from the Home Shopping Network that she's been addicted to for the past 20 years. And she's delusional enough to think she can get another place with a mortgage when she is losing the house with no mortgage who she cant pay the taxes on. I dont like my mom feeling burdened. And her bum ass family is making her feel this way.

My sister is selling her house to downsize now that her kids are grown and wants to move into my niece's apartment since her credit isn't good enough to get one on her own. She has 2 dogs and the apartment doesnt accept pets. So guess who she asked to take care of the dogs? Im not feeling that AT ALL. I wouldn't mind taking them for a couple of weeks but i have no idea how long till she can find a place that she can have the dogs with her. That's going to be a problem and i sense an argument coming on that because im not a good dog sitter. Im too busy as is and im rarely home so im not going to feel taking care of them for any length of time and feel burdened with that.

This and some other minor stuff has been bothering me enough that i haven't been able to get a good night sleep in a while.

But I did a hard reset on my mind/thoughts
The beginning of this year
Tried online dating (hated it)
But kept talking to ppl

I met him at my neighborhood bar
One random Thursday night
After a long day at work
All I wanted was wings and to watch the game

I have two 2nd interviews coming up for two places I'd love to work at. The timing of the interviews just suck, one is this Friday and the other one isn't until 4/21.

One is great non-profit that I'd love to work at. I applied for a lower position and they contacted me a couple of weeks later to have a second interview for a higher position at the company, I honestly didn't originally apply for that position because I didn't have all of the qualifications it required.


The other one is a state job, very easy, great pay and benefits, and my schedule would be similar to my son's school schedule. They called me the day after my interview and asked for a 2nd interview with the vice president but not until 4/21


To be honest, I wouldn't mind not working for a little (a lot) longer but I don't have much interaction with the outside world anymore. Just the gym, going out with my son, and staying home, I know it's not healthy to continue on like this.

I woke up at 3am with so much pressure in my head last week that I thought my head was going to explode. It was all concentrated on the right side of my head.

Luckily, my MRI was normal and apparently all of this shit is related to my horrible sinus issues.

Went to my ENT and my right nostril is basically closed at this point due to my unretracted adenoids, deviated septum and turbinate hypertrophy and it was causing an immense amount of pressure.

So yesterday I had to get a CT on my sinus cavities. I have an appointment next Monday to go through the images with my doctor and decide whether or not to have surgery to fix all this shit.

People don't really understand how serious sinus issues are. Like, my co-workers laugh at home much I sneeze and the guy I'm dating likes to make fun of my occasional snoring but they don't really understand how much this shit affects my day-to-day life. It's like asthma of the nostrils.

We had a slight scare yesterday, my cousin posted on his FB "RIP nana"...his father is living with and "caring" for our grandmother. Despite our best efforts, we haven't seen grandma in over 2 years. So my other cousins are calling like is grandma dead??!?!? Turns out she isn't...it was his great grandma on his mom's side...but my heart is unsettled, I NEED to see my grandma...I NEED to know that she is ok--even with the dementia.

marriage is challenging but what part of adult life isn't?

I wish I had more time for the things I want to do creatively, but I'd rather have everything else in place than be struggling while I keep my dreams going. putting both together is optimal though

most of my circle turns 30 next year (Im 35 next month) so we're planning a trip out of the country. things like that I was never able to even imagine 2008-2010

I also kick ass every day at my job, that helps me maintain my peace of mind

Almost too much to describe, but...I think I'm all good now.

Back at the same company, but in a better department than before, and finally got a 8-5 M-F schedule. Took a pay cut, but I wasn't going to make what I made before, especially not working IT Support.

As much as people hate corporate, and complain about it in so many ways....Entertainment is way, way, way harder to thrive consistently in. I did good while I was only DJing, but still didn't get to where I would have hoped to get. Politics are crazy, even worse than corporate. If I had been 22-25, and didn't have a (high) mortgage, I would have just stayed as a DJ for some more years...but I'm 30. I need that long term, benefits, alla that.

This current job in Soft. Eng wasn't even available 9 months ago. So being able to say I gave it a go...then being able to back into the market even though it's tough getting good jobs and good companies...I'm not at all mad at it.

Thing is, most folks are disappointed, not necessarily in me, but just that I "had to" go back. People wanted that video of me throwing papers out to be like my grand exit from corporate...people told me they lived through that, and were motivated to quit and do their own thing. So it is a bit discouraging to folks that I wasn't able to go on forever without doing corporate. But I'm not mad at it happening this way.

Just as I was beginning to get back on my feet again, I get thrown all the way under the bus. I guess loyalty doesn't cut both ways. I'm hurt. People say they'll be there for you because it sounds good, but in actual deeds when you actually need them, it becomes a hollow sentiment. Fuck every inch of that shit.

And all I really wanted last night was someone to cuddle with and cheer me up. I really miss not having a boyfriend.

But just gotta keep moving forward, right? Though to be honest my internal compass feels off and I'm not even sure which direction forward is anymore. I guess I'll have a lot to talk to my therapist about on Friday?

...had the worst start to a day ive had in a while. was running late. hit up the FOMC to see of he can come straight to my house rather than me bring him to his grandmother (would have saved me mad time) when i last hit spoke to him last night he said he was coming early. come to find out some shit came up aa usual. not his fault i was running late but it would have helped if he let me know what was going on. everyone is on vacay in FL so i had to do a few more things than usual before leaving (walk the dog, feed him and the cats etc) so im like fine get ready and dropped the kid off at his grandmother but of course she needs me.to put the car seat in for her in her car and then talk me to death about some shit that i already spoke to her about. then i had to go back to the house to get my cart which wouldnt fit with my son in the back and it doesnt fit in my trunk. when i get there i find that the dog has knocked the garbage over and its garbage everywhere. i have no time to clean it but in anger i throw a shoe in his direction. i miss and of course made a hole in the wall because my day had room to get worse. i pack up my cart and leave. i get to the gas station near the george washington bridge only to find theyre all out of gas at the moment and i had to detour through fort lee. get my gas and from the station to the bridge i swear drivers were just fucking with me driving mad slow and shit. finally get to the bridge and cross it. somehow i made it down the FDR to bk in enough time to get some lunch at whole foods. their chicken today was so fkng wack. i just ate it and i feel like kicking the cook. waiting for my first delivery but all i want to do is go to sleep and start all over. UGH. need to fix the wall before my dad gets back i feel like im in a fucking sitcom smh
