"Poll question: If your boyfriend/girlfriend still had tinder would you find it suspect?"
Thu Apr-02-15 01:21 PM by lightworks

My guy friend said he just saw me on tinder and I was like "Why are you still on there? You have a girlfriend."

His response was "I like swiping"

Edit: he says he doesn't talk to anyone just swipes and I said why and he said "Mini ego boost. When I'm having a bad day I can go at least some stranger thinks I'm cute"

i have friends w/sig others who are on various hook-up sites b/c they're nosy. they never meet anyone let alone hook-up w/anyone from the sites. so i wouldn't trip just b/c my man is on one of them.

then again i'm not a fan of monogamy so even if he's on there hooking up i wouldn't necessarily mind.

fuck you.

he has to be my world, and i have to be his so,
actively logging into dating sites doesn't work
for me.

I mean, maybe they're about that swinger/poly life and I just don't know? But I always feel a lil uneasy seeing those I know who are either boo'd up or married and the cogs in my mind start turning...

Personally I made myself non-discoverable and deleted the app while I was in a relationship. I think that's a reasonable expectation of a mate.

are we cool, or not?
are you faithful, or not?
do you respect our relationship, or not?

if i think the answer to either
of these questions is "no,"
or even "maybe not,"

it doesn't matter how
clean you are on paper,
how many dating profiles you delete, or how much you reassure me.

i will never believe that you aren't full of shit and setting
me up for the okeydoke.

so why am i with you?

if i don't trust you now I never will.

so it's best to keep you at arms legnth.

that's me though.

had a SO ever "earned" your trust
enough that you no longer concern yourself
with their activities that don't
involve you?

ppl try to be logical about this but you can't.

my guy now, i trust him.
i can point to reasons I trust him, but ultimately, I can't KNOW what's in his heart.

he could be plottig anything, for all I know.

but once I decided he was in the inner circle, that's where he will stay until he gives me a reason to question my decision.

trust, or trust not.

i can't halfway love you.

i have let go of the idea of
being able to prevent heartbreak
by keeping tabs on folks.

shit works until it don't.

there is no more use for it so if you continue to swipe I'm thinking she is still searching or keeping her options open.

Doesn't mean I won't trust her at all but I will definitely prepare myself for the Tinder 2 step if she is still on the site.

Your decision on whether you trust someone you are dating is completely made up on Day 1?

You won't have a better idea as to whether you can trust someone on Day 467?

That doesn't even make any sense.

my track record I pretty good with this actually.

only one person in my inner circle has actually fucked me over.

and even then, it wasn't a surprise because he had given
me indications that he had changed before it happened.

I didn't have to snoop for those
indicators, it was clear.

my guy now, i didn't always know
that i'd want to be with him,
but it was clear to me that he was trust worthy. he has given no indication that I should question my decision to trust him.

perhaps i should state that I
generally don't trust anybody for shit,

so if i am considering dating you, you managed to not set off
my spidey sense, which is hard to do.

i frequently tell my friends that somebody ain't trust worthy.

they have learned to listen,
based on how accurate my readings of ppl tend to be.

whats so fucking hard about not being on tinder? lol is it that serious?

why isnt protecting their relationship more important?

me and my dude met on tinder and both got off after date 1. altho i tend to get back on when im insecure about where things are going. but thats the thing. it makes me feel better to know that there are other options out there. and i think its unhealthy to a relationship when ppl focus too much on the idea that there's a sea of options out there. fuckers are going to be swiping forever.

Yeah its really really bad. With the nature of the app its really easy for people to hollar and not need to shuffle around breaking the ice. The app itself is very nicely done. Whoever designed it did a great job. Wish I would of thought of the idea.
