"Artisanal Spam finally arrives in Brooklyn *swipe*"

BROOKLYN.

http://mashable.com/2015/04/01/artisanal-spam-brooklyn/

BROOKLYN — The hipster gods have finally answered your prayers. Spam — the canned ham — has joined the foodie scene in the overpriced and unusually dirty neighborhood of Bushwick.

Instead of suffering down regular canned Spam, Woodrow Van Dern and his culinary partner Kimbee have teamed up to create Spam Bushwick, the first artisanal Spam.

Spam Bushwick has introduced two exciting new flavors at their launch: Lemongrass Coconut Oil and Sriracha Pickles. However, the team is constantly thinking up new flavors, citing inspiration as their first ingredient in every can.

Imagine all that griminess without the patina of highbrow art and artisanal buttplugs.

It was a really desolate, fucked out place for a long time. Part of it still is.

But its also adjacent to Williamsburg, so the cheap rents that go with a slum got every faux artist with a cardigan and dream rubbing their farm-to-table erections and making unconscious pelvic thrusts at the new 'artists lofts' that vaguely resemble the Alphabet City they read so much about before moving to Brooklyn from Michigan.

And that is Bushwhick.

Architecture, populace, history.

Bushwick is/was industrial.

Bed-Stub has been mostly residential, to my knowledge.

Also more economic diversity.

they still have a lot of industrial areas that have yet to be rezoned for residential (that's coming soon though)

it never made sense to me why people were flocking to bushwick when there was bed stuy which was still affordable at the time but if folks want that williamsburg action then bushwick was the place to go

bushwick is the last place in the mroe "desirable" parts of bk that you can do the kinds of things that attracted people to move here but you cant' do anymore. like have a loft party or a live/work space or open a nightclub. theyre getting cracked down on though

all of these obnoxious foodie hipster artisanal douchebags continue w/their douchery though they are the butt of so many jokes.

their determination to live on their terms as they see fit is great. even if the rest of us think they're intolerable assholes, they don't give a damn.

i tip my hat to them. unironically. as i ridicule and troll them.

fuck you.

Hipster Reality vs. Hipster Parody.

Seriously, I can't tell the difference. This looks like a sketch on Portlandia.
