b/c i am completely aware of who Mumia is - a possibly rightly convicted murderer who college kids everywhere discover usually during 2nd semester of freshman year right around the time they discover Bob Marley posters and loud weed. some take up the cause of getting his case reviewed by staging various re-enactments of protest demonstrations they've read about in history classes or in old issues of Jet magazine. some never let go of this 'cause'. others join the effort b/c there are good looking women and possibly some of that loud weed and maybe some tips on how to get their locs to grow past the awkward stage. most end up dropping out of the effort b/c those women don't put out and the dudes smell like dirty hair ('AND PATCHOULI!' says Giuliana Rancic). others drop out of the effort b/c - summer. still others drop out of that effort b/c they declare their major in econ or some STEM bullshit and they don't 'have time' to put up Mumia flyers all over campus. but a few stick w/the effort and stage another demonstration or 2 before graduating. of those a few stick w/the effort even after college - by liking Mumia posts on Facebook.
anyway, yeah. i totally get who homeboy is. and his being in ICU definitely matters b/c when those college kids get back from Spring Break they'll need something to do. i suggest a candlelight vigil.

First of all, most of the people actively involved in the Free Mumia movement have been down at least 10 years. Also, if you actually studied the case, there is clear evidence of racial bias during his arrest, trial, and throughout his incarceration. I won't even get into all of the evidence that point to his innocence.
There are so many political prisoners facing death by incarceration in this country. People who've been in jail on bs charges from the 1960s. You'd think a black lawyer wouldn't be so quick to make idiotic comments about them.

Anyway, prison officials just allowed Mumia's family to visit him. He was in a diabetic coma, which was brought on by crappy prison health care. They say he's been in and out of consciousness. It's funny how this happens on the same day as the hearing on the bs Revictimization Act.

i hope it doesn't w/stand the court challenge. based on what i read about the hearing the other day i think the judge is leaning in the right direction.
