"How do broke people eat at 'weigh' places?"

What are those places even called...where you get your food buffet style and then they throw it on a scale for the price?

I just met a coworker from my old job for lunch, she's a lightweight hoodbooger....I wasn't hungry so I got a frozen yogurt from Red Mango. She looking at the prices and is like how you know how much its gonna be? I already know her style so my lightbulb went off. I told her a full cup with toppings is probably gonna be like $7. She's like she got $4. I'm like only fill it up halfway then.

She proceed to the register and i act like i wanna get something else....I am out of earshot but i can see what's happening. The cashier weighs it, says something, homegirl looks upset, says something back....Cashier got a "well what you gonna do look on her face". At this point, I get back on the line and there are about 3 people in front of me...I'm kinda in ear shot but out of "can you slide me a dollar" range. Homegirl takes a spoon and takes a chunk of yogurt off the top and is like weigh it again....nope Still Over. Takes a smaller chunk off and is under the $4 mark this time lol.

After I paid for mine, I acted like i didn't see any of that and asked how much was it. She's like $3.95 and it better be goood. lol

So...is this how this is suppose to work or broke people dont' eat at places like that.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

i mean, at least from my experience. when you go under what you think it should be its actually the correct amount for a normal healthy adult.
they normally design shit so you go OVER the limit and make more money for the company.

but uh, if you are a big big BIG person then you just gotta pony up and pay more

Which was weird to me too that she just throwing away product. I'd think there would be a solution to this on the stores end but i can't think of anything reasonable. Can't just give it to her because then people would do that all the time.

this one has a special; after 3:30pm all the food is half-off.

i walk in at 3:13 and see that all the food is not fresh, at all. i still packed a plate and approached the counter thinking they about to let me slide today, it's just a little earlier than 3:30.

i know it's not 3:30 yet, but today, i'm convinced im gonna get a hook up.

i explain the lady my plan for cheaper food a little early, and she's like 'no.'

she doesn't budge - she claims its policy and all that, and im standing in front of her - incredulously. i couldn't believe she didn't want to hook it up 10 minutes earlier.

so i adamantly stand at the counter like, fine - i'll wait this shit out, and she's gonna see how ridiculous this whole time-thing is.

bla bla bla. i call the manager out, lay my case out for him (2 minutes left at this point).

he looks at me like me like nah - you not getting the hook up. we go back and forth for a while. i try to explain to him that at this point the food is old and thus trash, you might as well be thanking me or wanting to buy it.

he still didn't budge. i slam the food and storm out.

like putting the bacon on top of each other? let the bacon accept some of the weight so t hat it don't get distributed to the scale?

In response to Reply # 0

I'd wager that most ppl who go to places like that are prepared to spend whatever it costs, or they already know how much is costs and know how to stay under...once she expressed concern like all I got is $4, you could have helped her man. It really does escalate quickly.

I mean this whole thread is HIGHKEY elitist because you going to lunch with a hoodbooger as you call her that you already don't really fuck with and you hid behind some other ppl so you didn't have to give her a dollar.

then asks "is this how broke ppl do it?" well, idk but I do know your whole thread is how fucked up people do it.

cheap and likes to take advantage of other people's generosity, kindness and embarrassment (for her). She has no shame. I've loaned her money that she hasn't paid back, paid for her lunch bc she's ordered something and didnt have enough, or bought her something bc i said i'm running to get an xyz would you like one and she responded with i'd love one but i don't have the money, or said yes, enjoyed xyz and never offered to pay.

So while we were working together, i stopped going to lunch with her(although i'll eat with her together in the break room) but now that we don't work together anymore, lunch is the only appropriate time to chill together.

ya dig?

... IIRC, it was at Caesars. Me and the fam stopped off there and were lookin at the prices like "how the fuck you know how much you're gettin???" So I'm watching one cat and his woman to see what they got and how much they paid: bet, got a good idea.

Anyways this white family came in and just went fuckin nuts on the yogurt machines and toppings. They got the biggest cups, just drenching all the toppings on heavy handed and everything.

Their bill??? Just over $60... for some goddamned frozen yogurt. And dad paid it without flinching or hesitation.

all the time, 4 including me. still kinda pricey but we can get yogurt for about 20 bucks or so.

the kids get 3 topping and 2-3 flavors. wife and I get something within reason, but not of us ever fill those big ass cups. we also try to frequent one in particular so eventually we'll get something free.

Y'all buy those labels, I was born supreme

My daughter loves those places. I cut my teeth at this jawn called "Sweet Frog", and now we do "Pink Berry" and "Menchies".

It's all the same shit tho...frozen yogurt, all the toppings you can stand.

Just be cool is all i can really say. I fill my cup up about halfway, pick one topping and be frugal about it. I get full and never spend more than 4 bucks on a cup.

It aint a buffet, and I think thats where folk get it twisted.

The thought of food being exposed to the general public puts up too many red flags, especially in a crowded city like NYC. I could see grubby filthy handed kids or entitled idiotic adults grabbing and putting food back with their hands rather than using tongs or designated spoons.
