That certain something that carries people where they want to go. ( success, etc)
Sometimes it seems to me that no matter how hard you work. Or how good some say you are If you don't have that THING. You won't get over.
You can kick, scream, rehearse, perfect, and master all you want. But if you don't have that LIGHT inside of you that attracts people to you...it won't matter.
Sucks.
Nah I'm not emo today. Just sharing a fear I deal with.
Just notice there's always a few people around that seem to get by on sheer charisma and personality. Sometimes I wish....

We've been programed to believe that some people have It and all the world's doors open up for the people with it. Those are the people we celebrate most often.
But "it" is bullshit. "It" is either tremendous luck or not seeing the work people are doing in the background.
Think about a dude like Larry Wilmore. That dude has been grinding forever and just now people are getting to know his work.
grind, grind, grind. And when you are done doing that grind, grind, grind some more.
If it were easy everyone would be doing it.

Need to be finding as many people on the right path to connect with as possible.
I read this book about the history of the business of hip-hop and the writer was surprised to discover that what Russell Simmons "does" for a living was get on the phone and just connect with as many people as possible on a daily basis. Just calls to keep in touch, see what's up and get the lead on what's poppin and gossip. His whole goal was to be in the know.

do/ca/will you humble yourself and work with people you don't like if it means you advance in your field?
Are you willing to rub elbows and kiss ass with people you may not like to get ahead?
I think these are things people do to make it to that next level.
Can you admit that someone who is less talented works harder than you and this is the reason they are where you want to be?
I remember a friend of mine was on FB and one of our DJ's from back in the say was calling him a sell out and saying he was pimping himself and producing trash and it was something he could NEVER do. My friend was like..
