Such a hilarious, stupid movie. My friend introduced it to me way back, I had never heard of it...couple years after it came out and I've watched it 500x since.

the cup of water hit his chest. Shit is foul, but his response + his artistic persona make the vid funnier than it should be.

i think it's the best comedic representation of anxiety that's ever been written. it's shockingly accurate and hilarious
the two main characters are extremely well-defined, so much so that even in the most outrageous of circumstances their actions and dialogues rarely seem unearned
the first-person perspective puts a lot of people off but it offers tremendous advantages for the writers. they can write lines that the character is thinking and have that character communicate the lines to the audience without the other characters hearing them. the writers take full advantage of this by writing jokes about things that aren't usually addressed in TV comedy, like the thought process and rationalizing unethical behavior. all that stuff was really fresh and unique the first time i saw it and it remains funny on repeated viewings
the dialogue is extremely well-written. Peep Show's main writers/show runners come from the writing staff of creator and head writer of HBO's Veep pre-Veep works so there is a bit of that flowery insult stuff in Peep Show
it also has a bit of the BBC The Office cringe humor but it's cranked up a notch. i think it's more intense and therefore funnier
