"why would anyone "check their privilege"?"


  

          

I regularly hear you crunchy granola wombyn types demanding that others "check their privilege"

Why would anyone actually do that?

Like if there's some "privilege" I have...why on earth would I stop whatever it is that is obviously benefitting me...so you can do better?

Its dumb.

And makes the time you need to call for assistance less fraught with hypocrisy and the apathetic response of people who won't empathise with you because your problems aren't theirs.

I don't like the idea of living in a society like that. Society is too much like that right now and I don't believe we're headed in the right direction on that basis.
