"I'm in Mexico City all day by myself with not shit to do."

Here for work but today's meeting was canceled because the people I was supposed to meet with didn't realize until Friday at 5pm that today is a national holiday and they weren't gonna be at work. We still have a long meeting tomorrow but it was too late to reroute my trip to go home by the time I found out... Would have cost a fortune.

And I do have a SHITLOAD of emails and work I could be catching up on but my work computer crashed while I was in Dallas Friday and I can't get a new one until I get back in the office Wednesday.

So, yeah. I guess I'll get a workout in and then spend the afternoon exploring. I'm not gonna stray too far from Polanco without a specific destination in mind though. Anyone been to Mexico City and have suggestions?

It's pretty cool, You'll get great pictures and if you're in D.F., it's relatively close.

Probably the best museum I've seen in my life.
It has many artifacts from all of the major Native nations from Mexico.

The Frida Kahlo Museum is good.
Also La Botica is a good place to try a bunch of Mezcal.

It felt like the "downtown" of MC. There were museums, a nice park area and some of the best street food I have ever had.

Everything was closed due to the holiday but I went into the cathedral and got some great pics of all the architecture.

Found a nice quasi-fancy restaurant on cinco de mayo walking back and grabbed lunch.

It was fun for an unexpected solo trip.

I once went on a bachelor party trip to Cancun. I remember hearing earlier in the day that bars were closing at midnight because it was their election.
We forgot about that and went to a strip club. Sure enough they kicked everyone out and closed early for the Voting holiday.
We were like "Strippers don't vote! They don't need the night off." We were mad because we had only been there an hour.
