her rant gets a little too sweeping in a moment of feeling shoved around and violated. When ppl feel slapped in the face, we all tend to go a tad heywire with our thoughts and words. I feel her frustration. She's cute too. The good Chinese folks of the world will survive.

When you come from an over populated country where there is literally no space for you to take a breather, things are going to get tight. It's just their natural way of doing things, it has nothing to do with manners, it's social conditioning.
Similar to how southerners rightfully get bugged out by us north-easter cats. New Yorkers and New Englanders can be rude as hell and conditioning is only the tiniest semblance of an excuse. Rude is rude.
Were they in China? If not, then there's even less excuse. According to her, everyone else there was capable of being polite.

I had to choose between two resorts in the Maldives, and one had a bunch of reviews about how it's really popular with Chinese tourists. People were bitching about how they bogarted the buffet lines, talked loud on their cell phones and took fake wedding photos everywhere.

Like in anime when the tough and or bad guy is like "hm!-- your power level is half mine" or something. I could see why it might come across the way the OP framed it, but nah just as culturally Asian as Chinese folks and their disregard (at times) for lines.
To be honest it didn't look much more organized behind her.

it's not about smugness...
it's about the social concept largely not existing
people really forget just how much social order is straight up man-made and that it didn't spread evenly everywhere even though that seems even more common sense than the concept of personal space
many foreigners see our concept of personal space as extremely entitled...*shrugs*
i hate that shit too bc it's ingrained in me and it's extremely difficult to be frustrated with someone that has no idea why u are frustrated lol

that's what I was really referring to. The 'hm' pause is something I feel I've seen a lot in various forms of Asian cinema and is why I considered it culturally Asian in nature and not black/African American.

and it's always somebody who just zags in and swerves in a line, and then several other people follow suit and mess up the whole integrity of the line. Then you look at them and they have this "oh i didn't know there was a line" dumb ass expression on their face. I always call them out and it's hilarious because when one person calls them out and tells them where the line is, you get a chorus of co-signs and people ready to back you on it lol
Koreans will skip you in line but aren't as pushy as Chinese.
I have been skipped in lined by Koreans but Chinese will literally push you out the way. In the week I spent in China, I was pushed and hit (mostly by older ladies) than I ever was in the six months in Korea.
after one day in China I learned if you ain't pushing you will be waiting on that next bus, train, taxi or whatever. I'm 6'2" 270lb I was built for being pushy in that country!
