couple ppl i know annoyed they are getting gray hairs in odd places.
so they shave, tweeze, yank, burn, whatever...as if that will reverse the clock
newsflash, hoes. youre 40+. chances are the majority of your life has already passed by. why are you trying to "look younger"? as if having a gray hair or all gray would make you "look older"
and even if it did...so what? YOU ARE OLD. youre closer to 50 then you are 20. accept that shit. if you still trying to kick it & compete with people half your age...youre wrong no matter how many wins you think you get.

I think I had the distinct feeling for the first time of my life of being the old dude at the club. Like damn I can't dance to this music and have fun because people going to think I am too old to do so?
Now when I buy clothes I have to think about, am I to old to be rocking these sneakers and this t-shirt?
I won't dye my hair but I've grown concerned enough about this thinning hair to get a new hairstyle.
I am generally happy with my age because I've checked all the boxes I was suppose to check by this age but there is a downside to feeling like I am too old to engage in certain behavior I want to engage in.

you can still 'be cool', I just think there's certain subtlety to it.
I still rock sneakers, just more Air Max/New Balance trainers and less 'franchise' joints (Lebron's and KD's are too much)
I still rock t-shirts, just more fitted; no loud colors or irreverent 'teenagery' statements.
I'm cool with my gray pubes and ear hairs. a short half-moon part > some crazy ass design.
you can be mature and still do you. My kids remark all the time about how I manage to be low-key cooler with my 'swag' or whatever despite the fact that i'm 40.

I think this is the crux of the issue with a lot of older folks: being worried about the opinions of others. The beauty of getting older is not having to care. You've earned the right to do you, in whatever way that manifests.. because at the end of the day, it's not hurting anyone. You're not breaking any laws. If someone doesn't like you dancing to whatever, or wearing whatever t-shirt and sneaks, then that's their problem and their hangup. That's got nothing to do with you. Why give them that power over your life? or think about why you need the approval of others?
get confident enough to enjoy what you enjoy. you old..you've earned it

get settled in my stubborn ways and viewpoints and eventually cant relate to younger folks. i have no interest in living a young lifestyle, but i do want to remain mentally young without having a young mentality. my family is full of old, active, tech-savvy people tho, so im not that worried.

"i'm not afraid of dying; i'm afraid of not living."
that has stuck with me ever since. I just want to LIVE and experience life in all it's forms (that i can handle)...and i can say that i've always been doing that, even when people didn't like it
