What folks are trying for is unrealistic to say the least. What is it even that folks want? Equality, fairness, justice equal to that enjoyed by a largely racist society?
There is no cure for the human condition. Folks would be better off just trying to stay off the racists radar and learning to hide in plain sight. You might get farther and live longer.

If the US Department of Justice issues a damning report, like the one they released, then shit has hit the fan. Change will be coming. Those "suggestions" are not suggestions. That's what they're gonna make happen.

the problem is less about racist beat cops, but more how the police departments don't punish, cover up, and at times actively promote their behavior. There's no way to stop an individuals bias, but right now you can cover shit up and are basically rewarded for it, and that starts a few pay grades higher then beat cop.

Regardless of our outlooks we both know this current model of white supremacy is not sustainable. It has to end somehow and I can't for the life of me find any examples of a peaceful cultural change in the history books, so I'm left with the fact that when things do really change i.e. this system we live under-- it will be unpleasant to say the least.

Fines, speeches, abuse reports, resignations, apologies, police cameras, race sensitivity training and all that other bullshit are ways to get around real punishment. No one wants to infuriate the racist whites in this country and that's why this shit will keep happening.
