While in seminary, we often pondered the reason for suffering.

Koko is one of the few non-humans known to keep a pet. Researchers at The Gorilla Foundation said that Koko asked for a cat for Christmas in 1983. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koko_%28gorilla%29)

In response to Reply # 0

We are in a type of school, learning how to govern ourselves and each other, so that we may be wise and experienced enough to be initiated to the source of life and creation. Freemasonry is built on this concept, and is in fact derived from Egyptian mysticism and has nothing to do with devil worship or the Illuminati.

In response to Reply # 28

According to Freemasonry, Lucifer is the light bringer. That is where the misconception of devil worship originated since "light" is usually associated with "god". It is in fact an allegory.

The allegory states that the keys to the kingdom of god were given to, and are protected by demons. The demons are a symbolic allegory for your own personal struggles which hold you back. For some people it's alcohol. If you conquer alcoholism you receive the keys to your own salvation from alcohol, so symbolically, it was alcohol that allowed you to find that salvation by ultimately conquering it.

In this sense, Lucifer is the light bringer, because he stands as the symbol of the inner demons you must conquer in order to experience your own salvation. In Islam, this is synonymous with Jihad, which is a war on your inner demons, and has nothing to do with killing other people.

One must remember there is no literal Lucifer. All of this stuff is pure allegory.

>and certainly nothing demonic about Egyptian mysticism.

Definitely not. It is brilliant. I study it all the time and it has helped me become a better human being. If you are interested I would recommend listening to Manly P Hall lectures. He has a very in depth analysis of Egyptian mysticism which is truly excellent.

the other is Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, whatever was a messenger of light, no longer is, but pretends to be. Whether taken literally or metaphorically it's in direct contrast to the "good Lucifer" school.

There's also the teaching that what we call demons aren't fallen messengers i.e. angels, but eternal spirits of once living creatures. Creatures that hated men when they (the creatures) had bodies and continue to torment men in spirit. Again be it literal or metaphor it is in direct opposition to the beings given a bad rap perspective popular in occult teachings.
