I know I'm an old head, Charter Member and all, but the OKPRE was some good fun and I hope that we can have another one before the oldest generation rolls of this site for good or the ultra lurker levels kick in.

There's a show coming up in a big city. Get tickets, plan a bar event the night before. Throw a bbq the afternoon after. Catch night flights and recover at work on Monday or call in.

organized this year around Afropunk time but honestly...
planning a Re takes work and most of us really don't have the time, energy, $$$ (cuz SOME of y'all really don't be trying to pay)
I used to be all about planning an NYC RE but there weren't enough folk down enough for me to link with and by now, I'm not really trying to meet any new OKP's
for those that know me off of here, I can coordinate something with them *shrug*
it's a novel idea but it just needs (reliable) bodies...

we book a block of hotels have to coordinate an agenda secure a spot for a bbq get food etc for said bbq
we usually have tshirts and other stuff for attendees it becomes A LOT

but i will say the entire atl 2003 planning committee was a pleasure to work with
if there's a group of ppl in Africa City who want to plan and host the RE then they'll make it known. if no other group in some other city speaks up saying they also want to host then Africa City it is. and i don't think there'll be much fight between host cities about this.
so for 2016 if some group is willing to do the work they should speak up and get on it.
holla @ those who've planned and hosted before to get the deets on what's worked and what hasn't.
but don't wait for permission or recommendations from a post like this. just do it.
it's not like okps stopped meeting up en masse I think what happened was for the best the Re came home to Philly for the 10th anniversary and was laid to rest there after.
