As far as online dating, I never did it and would never do it. I only dated women I met in person and it was obvious we had things in common. To this day I'm friends/cool with 99% of the women I dated... no crazy surprises or 180 spins after the 3rd date.

Dating is hard and thankfully I cashed out before the online thing started. I heard too many horror stories early on and knew that wasn't going to be my thing.

This doesn't flow with the "just be yourself!" narrative that a lot of women seem to follow tho, so many seemingly put very little effort into actually being attractive to the man that they really want to attract. They are --in effect-- shooting themselves in the foot, dating-wise.

I only touched on that for brevity, 'cause I was a bit busy when I wrote is but you get the jist of it. Presentation is very important and that includes how you talk, how you behave, and whatnot and includes your appearance and, in cities where people own cars, what you drive.

To touch on other aspects, what are your interests and where do you usually find yourself in pursuit of those interests? I have a love for jazz and going to spots where it's performed will result in few, if any, hoodrats. Though I don't indulge in my artwork like I used to, I have yet to encounter hoodrats at art galleries or museums. Same for my photography, I've never encountered many hoodrats up in the mountains while trying to snap get a good pic or have never had any approach me while taking pics around town.

I can go on and on about it but you should be able to see where I'm going with all of this.

I'm uncomfortable taking responsibility for my terrible choices and generally awful taste in men. While these men aren’t blameless, I simply refuse to admit that my own hang-ups, habits, decisions, and general baggage contribute greatly to the consistently shitty status of my relationships.

Since I’m completely unwilling to change anything about myself- which would first require admitting that there’s anything at all about me that needs to change- I’ve deduced that there is only one real problem and that problem is men.

I agree with this in regards to Renebug making poor choices and not accepting responsibility for her part in the madness, but my post was a side bar comment about a narrative that ive seen pushed far too often and not just on here. When it's a woman being done dirty its " well it's her fault for picking the wrong man, oh well! " But when it's a man in that scenario its "it's not his fault, how was he supposed to know! how self aware most dudes are when it comes to fucking up relationships and dating. women will get together with their girlfriends and vent and get support without much criticism of their actions, dudes will get together and get a lot of criticism(usually in the form of playfully getting made fun of) without much support for theirs.

If women did that to each other they would fall the fuck out and never speak again.

I had a girlfriend once who had a threesome with two of my close friends
I had another girl who cheated on me the entire time because she didn’t really want to be in a monogamous relationship, but she loved the way I treated her. She wanted all the perks of a caring boyfriend and none of the commitment.

I have a friend whose wife cheated on him. They divorced and she got him for a nice ass alimony check, child support, she controlled visitation, the works. She’d go out of her way to cause problems in public settings trying to bait him into any sort of temperamental reaction to use against him in court. She once denied that she got served papers that I served her personally. She refused available work because she preferred staying home and collecting alimony and told my friend this verbatim. On top of child support, my friend paid for school clothes and food and even chipped in to keep lights on because he didn’t want them to suffer when they were with her.

He’s got a good job, owns his home, attends all their games, makes sure they do their homework, I mean he does everything a father should. The court continually took her side for several years before the tide turned and he finally got a good attorney. It took 6 years and he finally has full custody and she’s left with nothing. She’s abused and neglected their two teenage sons and played them like chess pieces to the point that they want nothing to do with her. She’s currently badmouthing my friend to everyone who will listen, trying to get all manner of third parties in the mix trying to lay guilt trips on him.

My point? There are just as many trifling, ain’t shit women in the world as there are men. Any time someone jumps on the ‘it’s high time men/women admit _______________ and they should __________ and need to stop ________________,” it’s a bad look because it all boils down to people. Not men, not women, but people. Men see it from their angle and women see it from theirs, but the truth is we all pretty much see and experience the same flaws and foibles in the opposite sex. Many men are dogs, as are many women and we can literally go tit for tat forever without anyone scoring a ‘win’ in the discussion.

That’s why the sidebar doesn’t really amount to a hill of beans.
