My wife brags on it like it's manna from heaven. She's from Tampa and says the Cuban sandwiches are as good as the hood joints. I made a comment about how Acme is trying to be on the come up with the hot food, and she went on a Publix rant saying I'd have to try it to believe it. Do you guys agree?

Like Jerm said, their chicken is really good. The rest of their cafeteria style food is above average.
They're sandwiches are really good. So much so that when somebody posted an April fool's hoax about publix opening a bunch of sandwich shops around metro Atlanta, I totally believed that shit.
The only thing they don't do great in the sandwich department is the Philly. It's just ok.

Their party wings, both breaded and non breaded, are THEE bizness. Their salads, including fruit, are hittin', and their sub sammiches are on point. I got 4 pieces of wings that are about to get smashed in a few.

it's serviceable. i wouldn't go out of my way to get any of it but i'd choose it if convenient.
but if i'm choosing between chicken from Zaxbys or Publix i'm going w/Zaxbys. Popeyes vs Publix? Popeyes. KFC vs Publix? i dunno, but i'm not a fan of KFC generally.

the chicken at Publix wasn't so good that i'd pass up average fast food fried chicken for it. Zax was at least average fast food fried chicken. it wasn't mind-blowing but it was better than what i had from Publix.

I don't mean that. Wegmans is good...but damn it you stop bad mouthing publix. It's the only store in the area where I regularly see black women with natural hair.

And, some locations are better than others. The one in Vinings, near Cumberland has/had a chicken wing & tender bar, with like, 10 different kinds available. Neither of the 2 near my job in Kennesaw rock like that, and the one near my house doesn't either. It's a super rare occurrence that I'd fuck with a sub for lunch or dinner, but my mind would default to go to Firehouse or somewhere else before any grocery store.

nothing more really if you think their wings or sandwiches are on par with places that specialize in those items...you probably need to eat out more it's cool on the late night cheap bag of wings + 6 pack of corona tip though
