"The 5ive (Turn yo clocks back edition) "
Fri Mar-06-15 08:30 AM by Fishgrease

--------------------------
B.C. (before children)

My son is silly. Anyone that has ever met me knows that I have a rather raspy voice. Well yesterday I'm in the house whistling and what not, he stops me and says "wow, even your whistles are crackle-y"

i don't know why that tickled the hell out of me but it did.

Then reality set in and I got self conscious and I ain't whistled since yesterday.

Damn kid got me all in my feelings over whistling.

------------------
Surprise

So this weekend I turn another year older (*throws wet confetti to celebrate the joyous occassion)...Anyway my youngest sister has decided to throw a cookout to mark the births of her baby daddy (his bday was 3/5) and yours truly---Only thing is, I ain't coming. How you gonna call me 4 days before my bday and tell me all this. Keep in mind, this younger sibling is quite hood and I can just imagine the amount of ratchetness that is going to happen there and I just don't want to use any birthday proceeds to get someone (or myself) out of jail. When you have that gut feeling that something is going to happen---stay yo ass from round there!

S4
------

How samsung not gonna have a removable battery or sd card slot in that new S6. If I ain't want alladat, I'd just get a Nexus 6.
Second of all, why won't anyone continue making a phone the size of the S4? That's about as big as I really want my phone to be and even then i feel that's too much. Guess I'll be rockin' this joint I got until it totally gives the phuck out.

------------
Ipad mini

I bought one of these joints a couple days ago and I still don't know why? I've done nothing on it but look at instagram and flipboard. What are y'all doing on an ipad that I aint? Help me out. I'm about to take this summabitch back to the store. I did buy an SD camera kit for it but to get the video from my camera to the ipad I have to put them in a folder marked DCIM and then give the pic/video a name that is exactly 8 characters. I don't wanna have to take the sd card out of my camera, into my laptop and then into the ipad camera thingy...I could just do what i wanted to do with the sh*t when it was in the laptop.

simple sh*t made difficult isn't for me in 2015.

------------
Beetle

I drove one the other day....phuck how they look. I want one.

Gimme 5

1. "5 New Edition Songs"
In response to Reply # 0

And my experience in life since putting that new edition trailer online last week:

COOL IT NOW:
Phones have been blowing up. Email. Facebook. All of that. Luckily I have people in place to comb through all of em. a a lot of vultures Turns out. Everybody wants something for nothing ( producer credit just to set up a meeting? Frill?) But I guess it's part of the game.

Boys To Men:
this really forced me to grow up. Not only this entire process but putting myself out there as a professional. Best believe they are watching me. Looking me up. Doing their research

I gotta be legit.

Where We Started From:

I found myself getting stuck on the thought that this could be the project that could change my life forever. like if I just chose the right people an vehicle to align myself up with I'd be living my dream. Just gotta make the right decisions.
Then I got my self all sick with anxiety and couldnt eat all last week. Lost 10 lbs and my body shut down. Had to avoid calls and meetings. Building myself back up. Calming myself down.

SCHOOL:

With all this I learned people do NOT read. I spent alot of the first part of the week putting out fires. People thought thought the trailer was real and was spreading it like so. But I had to make sure I wasn't putting myself in the "lifetime" category. But I had to chill and realize people just got excited and really liked the work. And they saw value in something that had no budget ( well I tried but yall didn't wanna give me nothin! Lol)

MY SECRET:

Well its cool that father Questo approved of the trailer and even tweeted about it. But now I'm like what's next? I can't just do any old thing. Kinda painted myself into a corner here. Whatever I do next has to be just as good and captivating.
considering a webseries. I dunno. We'll see. Right now. I just need abother day of rest.

Why would you not wanna go to your sisters cookout?

They gave you 4 days notice....you got some other plans or will be out of town or is it just the potential for foolishness is so great that you'd literally rather be by yourself then go to a party somebody is throwing to celebrate....you?

1) I already got plans.
2) parties for her...include weed, liquor and folks currently out on bail. I'm not trying to be in that mix. It's not that I'm above it all. But the last time I went to a function of hers, all i could think about was how much I wanted to be back at home. Buncha grown folks wearing skinny pants that come no where near their waist band, loud weed like the kind that smells like indictments and shoot outs. Lastly, I'm turning 39, I don't feel like being around a gang of 23 and unders.

one.
i'm going to the memorial service. i told the FOMC so that he wouldn't be surprised to see me. i don't know how he feels about it but i'm not gonna be there to make things awkward.

two.
my sons eczema has been acting up but i've discovered that a lot of his scratching is habitual so i went ahead and looked up some ways to deter him without outright telling him to 'stop scratching' which is assholish (i've been saying it bc i didn't know what else to do but i recognize that the scratching even out of habit isn't something he can help that easily)
so i read somewhere the best thing to do is to turn his attention to other things. this has been helping. the other tactic is when he's sleeping and he goes to scratch to cuddle him to
distract from the itching. THAT doesn't work with him. he gets extremely hostile when i try
to do this screaming and crying and bucking and everything. its really upsetting.
i will be glad once he grows out of this shit. which i'm expecting him to bc his eczema really
isn't that bad. it goes down pretty easily with shea butter or even a&d ointment but when
he decides to scratch a lot of times he scratches until he bleeds and he gets inflamed all over again. *sigh* working on it.

three.
true life: i'm addicted to the show SNAPPED! i dvr it and once a good amount of episodes are saved up i go on a little marathon. its been keeping me together since we don't have investigation discovery.

four.
the show was postponed to the 19th of march. so glad they didn't go on with the show. it was too dangerous out there.

five.
weather is supposed to get 'milder' starting tomorrow. i'm here for it. lets go spring.

wildchild's doctor
have me give her soak in seals
which is let her play in the tub
filled with warm water
for like 20-30 minutes
dont dry her off
then lather her UP with lotion

it helps keep her moisturized

in regards to her scratching at night
i put socks on her hands
it really works
she cant cut her skin
with that barrier

my son used to have special gloves for that when he was younger then he started taking them off.
that was a while ago tho. it might be different now.
im willing to try again
the reason why i feel like most of his itching is out of habit is because
even after moisturizing heavily (sometimes while i'm moisturizing)
he goes to town
i feel like he just doesn't know what to do with his hands a lot of times
if he's not doing something specific
he'll be scratching and as soon as i give him something he's interested in he stops
its tough!

- my company offered liberal leave today because of the weather and other than me, there are exactly TWO people from my department that made it in. in total, it's about 20 of us...

Tito

- if we assume the next President will be either Jeb Bush or Hilay Clinton, and we also assume that the one elected eventually wins reelection and does the full 8, that will mean that since 1980, a Bush or Clinton would have been in the White House for 36 of those 44 years. Barack's 8 year run was the only break in the pattern. And i started this in 1980 cuz papa Bush was VP for Reagan's 2 terms then he was the Prez himself for 4 years.

2 families running this shit.

every time i see papa Bush and Bill Clinton together, my conspiracy senses start tingling...

Samuel L.

- people behave badly on the subway. especially young kids. and drug addicts. during the evening rush hour, i see corporate types sitting there terrified while kids yell and cuss and addicts lean and beg and the low budget hustlers sell loosies & hats/gloves & candy & pills & just about anything.

their fear kinda fascinates me. and it also angers me cuz i'm wondering what they think about their surroundings and how those thoughts make them view people in general. those thoughts come out in the YouTube comment section...

- Lee Daniels be doin the most with Empire. he managed to cram a million agendas into 1 show. you got

*interracial couples
*young/old couple
*mental illness
*infidelity

Jackson Pollock

- it's funny to me that people put their names on food in the fridge at work. or they write DO NOT TOUCH or something. like the type of person that would eat somebody elses food would be dissuaded by your punk ass note.

I control my netflix, hulu+, hbogo, maxgo, shoanytime, etc from it. So much so that I have had to remove email and whatnot and give it a generic password because my roommate also uses it.

My five:
1. I've been dating "the neurologist" for about 6 weeks now. This is by far the most chivalrous guy I have ever dated. If we stop dating, whoever I start dating afterwards is going to have hell to deal with because I have been spoiled rotten for the past 6 weeks.

2. No news is good news sometimes. this is one of those cases.

3. I LOVE my new apartment. My roommate is cool as a fan and it's so spacious for NYC. And even though I'm 14 blocks north of where I was by commute is shorter because I'm closer to an express train. I got really lucky with this find.

4. Me and this kid are >here< https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10151953410628525

5. This is one of the weeks where I love my job.

Just when I thought my boss was turning a corner & actually managing our team fairly well she dogs out an intern via email all morning without consulting me first (I manage the interns directly), gives another intern instructions that are completely different than what we had decided on, & shows up to the office 3 hours late (missing our meeting without notice).

A chick I met at a hostel in Turkey (from NC) is in town this weekend. her friends & I only kicked it for two nights but she was mad cool & had it not been for a sloppy drunk friend of hers I think I woulda gotten it poppin (although that's just me making excuses - my late game playcalling was on some Scott Brooks "just see what happens" shit). mind you, i only saw her 2 days like 2 years ago but she hit me up when she was visiting DC. hoping to feel this out & not drop the ball if the opportunity's there

tres
still looking for a new apartment, gone & checked out around 6 spots that didnt work out for various reasons. i figure I should probably just start going into some offices & asking if there's any vacancies but I'm not 100% sure where to find a list of those places & the only ones I see on my daily commutes are deffff gonna be outta my price range

cuatro
been digging the stuff my boy RU (Are You) has been putting out lately with his girl Alyssa Bernal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sATeLJdrXI & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2Ei6Kp3pzs

how good has russ westbrook been lately? the combo of him + scooping hasaan whiteside off of waivers might be enough to make up for me losing bosh for the year & the combined rondo/batum shit show

I'm mad at Rondo, man. that's my dude.

But Westbrook is beasting. I don't think he'll come close to getting that MVP vote, but the way he's been on... with all the shit he's going through injury wise, is crazy.

and Whiteside. The damn Heat won. I'll keep saying it again and again.

yea, i'm a rondo fan but it seems like the game's just changed so much the past few years in ways that dont let him shine. his best days are behind him.

Whiteside's a big coup; they gotta take advantage in the next 2 years while they have him at such a low salary

Tuxedo

I am HOT over losing that ring. I'm not gonna try to replace it, because I didn't buy it. At least it wasn't the one I got from my father. I'd have been BEYOND hot then.

Turquoise Summers
-----------------------------------------
I can slowly feel myself settling into a smaller space. And it is a good feeling.

Sven Atterton

Can't wait until the Auto Show this weekend. I'm going twice (once on a weekday, I don't believe will have the crowd tomorrow will).

Opolopo
-----------------------------------------
If you're an old fogey like me who has an iPod classic, and use an AUX-IN (instead of a direct connection) to your ride (or a cassette adapter), get on that FiiO Line Out Dock. No more effin' around with the volume. Just plug it in the dock, add your cable of choice, and hook it up. I use it every time I'm in a beater while the MADMobile is in service.

Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble
-----------------------------------------
I'll be copping that Jodeci album on 3/31 sight unseen. I just know it ain't gonna suck. "Every Moment" is a "I want to believe" kind of song.

While I love my big-ass S5, I can understand the desire for a more compact phone. And we are >< about the feature delete.

I feel Samsung did this before with the G-Alpha. Which flopped.
Though I think the S5 and Note 4 had some healthy sales.

I was gonna get a Note 4 until my phone died, the S5 made me feel, "ya know, maybe you don't need allat". Long as I got the "no fuss" charger, the microSD, removable battery, I'm good.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

download. no bootleg stream.

I'm going SKRAIT to best buy and making the purchase.

And if they have a deluxe release, I'm gonna pay extra for that too.

Is there still a chance you can find it?

I can't keep up with jewelry for anything. That's why I don't want an engagement ring. I'd lose it within a month.

1. New microwave for the 'rents
I can't stand when things don't work properly. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.
My parents drive me crazy with this. Why have things if they don't work?

2. Rain/mud-proof boots
Graze box has really been helping me snack better. I'm gonna be so fine by the end of the year.

3. extra long yoga mat
I want the job interview TODAY, but they haven't called back to schedule it yet.
Why is this mystery "he" in charge of that when a very efficient woman already
reviewed my application and got back to me? I turned down a 3-week sitting job for this.

4. new eyeglasses
I miss my grandparents. I miss being around old folks, laughing and learning.

5. desk lamp
There's got to be a way to jump start editing as a side gig. Let me take your rough writing and polish it into a jewel.
