Harrison Ford is critically injured after crashing his single-engine aircraft in Venice, Calif., on Thursday afternoon, according to reports in TMZ and Variety.
The plane reportedly crash landed on the Penmar Golf Course shortly after taking off from Santa Monica airport. Ford suffered multiple gashes to the head and was treated by doctors who happened to be on the scene.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The actor is a longtime aviator. And according to local residents, Ford’s distinctive chrome and yellow two-seater aircraft could be regularly seen flying in the skies above Santa Monica.

Low wing config, even with the open cockpit he wasn't killed on impact. Impressive that he was able to bring it in fairly softly on the dead stick. That's a sign of a skilled pilot who kept his head under a massive amount of stress. Hope he'll be OK.
