"Poll question: what drives how you vote?"

people always talk about once they're making real money, they'll start voting republican. its often jokes, but it makes me wonder if most people vote based on what's best for them vs what's best for the population served by the candidate or issue.

Poll result (9 votes)
I base my votes on what benefits me personally (1 votes)Vote
i base my votes on what's best for the greater population (3 votes)Vote
i base my votes on what's best for my ethnic group/religion/"peoples" (1 votes)Vote
varies depending on the candidates and issues (4 votes)Vote
voting is bullsh*t (0 votes)Vote

Take Education for example. I tend to think that the Common Core sucks. I also live in Massachusetts which has one of the best public education systems in the country. So at a state level, I think adopting Common Core is not wise. If I lived in a different state where the public educations system wasn't as strong, I might still believe that Common Core sucks, but it might be better than the current system so I might vote for it in that state even if I don't think it's all that good.
