Disrespect entails offering the opposite of respect. You don't have to respect a person just because they 'hustle hard.' That's not being disrespectful, it's not being given anything to respect. Plenty of people work hard, but if you don't have something substantial to show for your hard work in the form of some sort of craft when it comes to the arts it's not exactly a vendetta against you.

after a Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick concert in Brooklyn a few years back. When I said I didn't say anything to him, he was pissed at me because CED is a legend in his eyes. From production I can see it, but when I saw him he just looked like a dude that fell on hard times. Sad that he fell victim.

His instincts might have lead him to believe that MF Doom bit off him, but he would have been quite wrong. Did Keith reinventing his career inspire MF Doom? Possibly, but MF Doom actually connected the Dr. Doom story to real life events.
