it was proposed that ISIS wouldn't dare attack 30 Rock itself due to the risk that the USA will rain down bombs on ISIS territory in response.

i tend to agree. i think SNL/NBC face a fairly low risk of retaliation from ISIS due to the skit in question for the reasons previously stated.

i think that after ISIS has been proved to have attacked US soil the USA would definitely bomb ISIS territory in Syria and Iraq and i suspect Syria would probably join the US in fighting ISIS or else risk being seen as supporting ISIS against the USA.

and again, after ISIS has attacked in the USA all of the math changes. the USA would bomb ISIS territory and if Syria objects then the USA would consider Syria an enemy and could declare war on Syria. which i'm sure Syria wouldn't want considering it's currently fighting ISIS itself. so i expect Syria wouldn't object to the bombings and would be more likely to join the effort.
