tix are pretty cheap, and i never think to go. my friends go at least once every 3 months. just find some average hotel with a bed & a working toilet and unwind on the beach

its in the Bronx. Small island that is sperated from there and its a seafood mecca. Between that, Orchard Beach and Pelham Bay Park(which actually is the largest park in the city) u can have a great time.

i would drive a couple hours to Providence. Go to the Cliff walk and talk a tour. try the nearby beach. Go to the brown University campus. Summer is Providence is nice(2 to 3 hour drive). I would also say Philly which is 2 hours, AC is 3.
Flights to Panama and Belize are fairly cheap now

they have great food out there especially breakfast their breakfasts are insane
you can amtrak it for comfort but the bolt/megabus is so cheap and they usually have power and wifi so you aren't bored. you can nap and before you know it, you're there
cabs aren't too pricey but if you stay in city center you can eat at mad places nearby. they aren't dirt cheap but it's good eating and you can always yelp
hotel palomar is a nice boutique hotel but im all about sofitel b/c those beds are insanely good. you will sleep like a baby

Philly is good for a museum/dining trip....and yes, the Rocky steps......also, its a good sports getaway. 4 major sports teams two hours away. the Lincoln Field and Citizens Bank are great parks. I have also heard good things about sofitel. then you got the Roots Picnic and the 4th of July event coming. and the Made in America Concert over there. even if go there just to walk Ben Frank Parkway and get some Cheesesteaks and check the Roots mural, u r good.

see a couple shows of someone in a different venue. when i was in NY, I saw the roots in Philly, maxwell in Philly. of course thats me who lived in NY all my life and was bored of NYC venues.
Upstate NY has a couple concert venues coming.
Speaking of upstate, you got Albany, Rochester, Bear Mountain, Rye Playland, and the sculpture park

this weekend. On a gotdamn party bus. (Ugh).
It was also snowing.
Nevertheless, traveling from vineyard to vineyard was pretty cool. When you get there, you're given 4-5 tickets that can be used to sample the wines provided at each vineyard.
By the time you've visited four, you're all liquored up.
It can make for a nice little option for a weekend close to home.
