"Your favorite/least favorite food outside of America"
I just talked to someone who went to China, and they told me that the food there was nothing like Chinese Food is in America, as expected...but said it was horrible.
I've heard that all the food we have here that's supposed to be foreign is Americanized. I'm still in shock about all those Mexican dishes actually being from Texas, such as Burritos.
What countries have you been to and loved the food, and which countries did you hate?
For me, Morocco food was ehhhhh...the nice restaurants had good food, but the random hotel cafeteria was horrid, and the airport was alllll all all bad. Worst pizza I ever had, ever ever.
Ghana's food was good, and was very similar to Jamaican food from what I know.

i like fish and chips but ugh
and they like mayo and prawns like crazy
but their foreign food is great so any time i wasn't working i would go get shwarma or indian food or french food
not really a picky eater so i can't say i went somewhere and ate bad food except for that month in London. second time i went to London was good eatings.

Mexico City street tacos were so good, and since then tacos suadero is the first thing I order if it's available
Also pulque is a type of drink that as my homegirl said 'makes it feel like angels are giving you a massage'. After drinking some I fell out to where I was so relaxed my body forgot to breathe and i woke up gasping lol. The tacos de chivo in Tepoztlan were probably the best goat dish I ever had
Alcapurrias in PR were off the chain and better than in NY. The Mofongo was way better in PR too.

when i had people who could order for me, the food was great. but when i was on my own, the food was scary... i'm talking about fried baby chicks on sticks eaten like a lollipop... whole chicken heads in soups... dried and salted shrimp candy... menus with dog and duck tongue on it... ever look at a menu and want to throw up.... yep, that's china...
i walked into a bun shop with a piece a of paper that said, "I'm a vegetarian." on it. the shop lady nodded and starting putting some buns in a bag for me. LOL!
but, I also HATE american chinese food...

by reading this post. I explain this to people a lot who come out of town to Flushing to eat. You will find damn near every regional cuisine in China out here but finding what we consider "Chinese" food is actually rare. They are only like 3 Chinese-American takeout joints that I can think of and only non-Asians fool with those. There's this one joint a block from my apt that has a nice range of Chinese-American dishes and their menu cracks me up because those dishes are listed specifically as "Chinese Dishes" on the menu and not Hunanese or Sichuanese which is what this restaurant specializes in.
