There's an outrageous number of "designer sneakers" selling for 300+ now. Some of them have premium materials and construction. Some have innovative designs, but others just look like copies of other sneakers. I just don't get it.

i wouldn't expect superior quality for an extra $100. that's marketing. average deisgner shoes cost $800. at that price point to a couple thousand i would expect superior quality. in that $2-300 range it's a lot of marketing and advertising and higher salaries you're paying for.

I know what a $300 dress shoe looks like. But what does a $300 sneaker look like?
i'm not talking about it being $300 because of the brand or because it's exclusive. i'd like to see a $300+ sneaker that's made of superior materials and the design makes it worth that much.

but i've owned several "Nordstram Rack" type situations hugo boss, Y3s, paul smiths, cole haan, john varvatos converse off the top of my head don't really notice a big difference in materials. maybe the leather might be a bit softer or something like that all of my sneaks hold up fine though. my daily driver is a pair of zara rubberized sneaks i've had over a year and half at this point with no construction issues

"nappa" and tan not the prettiest sneak but you can feel the difference on your feet mine are cole haan so the insole is just as heavenly i imagine his feel even better given the price

and they are around $1000 but they are patent leather. For that price, i can get leather italian louboutins. it's ridiculous but no lie if i had money like that, I'd spend it.

I'm kind of familiar with Zanotti...they seem over the top that you could really only a single season out of them....am I wrong or nah?
