"What do you imagine life is going to be like? What are you going to do to amuse yourself? Are you going to be working the whole time? Are you going to be literally staring into space?
They've made it very clear that a lot of work is going to have to go into establishing the settlement, making sure it's working properly, maintenance. There's going to be scientific research to be done. There are people on Earth who are going to ask some questions, because we are going to be the new rovers, the new satellites, and the new science labs.
But we are still human beings. We're going to need time to hang out, work out, play games."

Obviously the temp on Mars is much different than Earth. Extreme cold at night time. I'm assuming they are bringing a ton of solar panels for energy.
Air most mostly carbon monoxide on Mars. So any cracks or leaks on the ship will kill everybody within an hour. I'm sure they have plantlife with them and they are going to try and grow some.
Alien spores and fungus. Please see the video game The Last Of US.
There is water on mars but it is frozen. Doesnt mean they can just drill into it and drink it up but if they need to replenish their supply that is an option.

especially when there will be no back up. What happens when food gets scarce or when someone gets sick? what happens if someone gets drunk and crosses some kind of moral boundary? What happens when people start having babies and there are more mouths to feed?
If this is a real plan it has disaster written all over it. Black dudes gonna die first by the way.

Once they start growing, there'll be too much oxygen in the dome, they'll need to vent - they have no way to vent that oxygen w/out COMPLETELY depleting the dome of oxygen, at least not yet, according to MIT - they say they're working on it and that issue will be resolved w/future technology by launch time.

Once the novelty of being on another planet wears off, they will want to come home. If they can't come home, they will lose their marbles as they will slowly start to feel trapped. Going outside, green grass, open air, blue sky, is going to seem like a distant dream that they will want to return to, imo.
