from all regions so i kinda can pick up on how certain
words are pronounced and what not

i grew up in jersey and ppl not from the northeast

its unique we know black folk came from the midwest and down south

exactly I grew up in the IE and non of my black friends sounded like that. I also spent a lot of time in Compton at my cousin's house and all our black friends from there sounded like this.

are, the stronger they sound. The Bay and Diego hoods have accents that are similar in a way, but The Bay's sound way way different, especially deep Oakland, Fairfield, Vallejo. Like when Marshawn Lynch gets hype, nobody in L.A. sounds like that.

I even notice that ALL the older hood folks in the Bay sound Country, while the ones in L.A. don't really have much of any accent.

I don't think I sound shit like this dude in this video. But people in the South will tell me or other L.A. people that we sound Country, and/or proper, and/or White. I would think the Mexicans influence the accents here, in the way that the Islanders influenced South Florida, or the French influenced New Orleans, or the Italians influenced NY....but nah, only a few Blacks have a slight Mexican accent, and it's usually as a joke. Big Boy picked one up after working at Power forever.

The ones here probably did move straight from the South, even if it was in the 50's n 60's...but we have a WHOLE whole lotta old folks here with zero accent at all, even in the hood. we don't sound like any one area in the Gulf Coast because our communities are made up of niggas who migrated from all over the Gulf Coast.

Bay Area and LA niggas sound similar but different simply because we're made up of the same Gulf Coast components, but our accents developed hundreds of mile away from each other.

Without the entire conversation it's impossible to be certain but the gist of it seems to come through.

"Babies" is shorthand for Baby Loc Crips in Watts which means this must have been taped on the Blue Line train that connects Long Beach, Compton, and Watts/South Central to Downtown LA.

He seems to be holding a conversation with a friend over the phone about an encounter he had earlier at the liquor store with someone who was hesitant to fight when it mattered the most. Perhaps the two were from the same gang and the liquor store encounter was an attempt at disciplining a coward for an even earlier infraction.

At some point the coward was "super turnt up" but when it really went down he wasn't. This has incensed the disciplinarian but he decides against fighting the coward because it wouldn't be worth his time.
