Say you're supreme ruby platinum mink coat status, a lot of competitors will match that status or offer you a challenge for a set period of time while then giving you that status.

I'm signing up for all I can while I can. Stayed at a hotel a few months ago that had a cookie and milk bar.

For a while I had platinum status so I didn't worry about it. But that expired.
Then I took a trip with my boss and he wasn't happy that he had to wait on me.

no idea what your status question is but if you travel a lot I recommend joining all those rewards programs. So much free shit to be had.

Before this month I was on about 80/90% travel. When you're then traveling with people a few pay grades above you; you don't want them having to wait on you.

I was carrying a laptop bag with 2 laptops and an external hard drive in it and i didn't have to take anything out of my bag.

the guy asked me to put my wallet and cell phone in the bag and send all that through the scanner.

i walked through without having to stop and put my hands over my head like somebody had a gun on me.

nobody waved a wand over me.

i kept my shoes and belt on.

it was the quickest and easiest time with TSA i've ever had...

they got these machines at LAX that are real easy and honestly i have not (knock on wood) had a tough time at any airport, u.s. or foreign, in a long time with customs or immigration. i had a connecting flight in san salvador that was a bitch, but that was just an airport security hassle (they make you take our all your shit and get searched before boarding the flight).

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

ESPECIALLY in busy airports/terminals/times (see Delta LAX red-eye. Bastids. ) Best thing I ever did. And with global entry, nothing better than coasting thru immigration/customs after a long-ass flight.

If you're airport is a major international hub, even if you only travel twice a year, it's totally worth it.
