If she tried to help this kid, how did that relationship go so wrong that they were willing to shoot at each other? Over bad driving? Nah. Something else happened that caused some kind of bad blood where they were willing to try to kill each other.
..even if i buy that the mom was enraged by the suspect tryin' to intimidate them, what exactly did she expect to happen when she escalated the situation by goin' home to grab her son (and a gun) and huntin' the suspect down?

Not sure how she’s a “victim” when she went home, got her son, a gun, and literally went looking for trouble. This whole “she tried to teach him how to be a man” thing doesn’t help either. There’s definitely a few layers to this onion that haven’t been told, and her dumbass son who wanted to be a fucking cowboy on the orders of mommy dearest only has himself and mumsy to blame.
As for her husband saying his wife was portrayed as an animal, he as only his wife and fucktard son to blame. Yeah. Fucktard is definitely appropriate here. Not a huge fan of that term, but I really can’t think of a more fitting term for this moron. The sister waking him up, I get, but a 22 year old should be able to intervene and tell mom to calm down and sleep on it.
