There's a beautiful interview somewhere on YouTube where a student asks an Astronaut on the ISS whether they look for heaven through their windows and the guy pauses briefly then replies with something like "we position ourselves so we can see how heavenly the Earth looks from above, but as for the 'heavens'... well... we don't have any windows that look in that direction."
It's one of the more beautiful things I've ever heard a human say... sampled it a few years ago and have never done it justice.

So before ignoramusofplato gets all excited, a little ramble:
Dimensions are just axes that you're positioned along - we find it easy to deal with three because it's what we're born to do - height, width and depth combine to give us our 3D experience.
So in Newton's time, you could give an object's position in 3D coordinates - x,y,z (longitude, lattitude and elevation perhaps) - but by Einstein's theories of relativity it becomes necessary to make it x,y,z,t with Time adding the 4th dimension of "Spacetime" (essentially we have no choice, but to move along the time axis at the speed of light, but this IS relative to others and so not 'fixed' from all perspectives) and it's not too much of a stretch to see how if you could manually alter your t value, you'd 'disappear' to anyone that didn't do the same simultaneously just as if you'd got on a train and traveled away in one of the traditional dimensions.
As for "other dimensions" described by things like String Theory or Brane theory, you're adding new "possible directions" to the existing 4D model that our brains are frustratingly unable to comprehend, but maths likes to point to quite a lot; the curving of spacetime for instance - it could even be that our universe is just one of many and the difference is that each universe has a different position along one of those 'invisible' axes - that'd allow for a "heaven" being hidden from our view.
Of course for it to be an actual usable heaven you'd have to be able to somehow travel along a non-space dimension without being reduced to your component particles... and that seems *highly* unlikely.

at least the way I read it. For man heaven is meant to be on earth and in the book of Revelation it states heaven will be on the earth. At the same time there is obviously the heaven where God and his other created beings reside.
God being spirit (as it is written) seems to suggest that his plane of existence is wholly spirit just as ours is completely physical.
