It was a great event but if I could make one tiny itty bitty critique.
I feel like back in the day there was more of a mix of music. I get that it's a dilla event but I feel like back in the day not only would they play dilla music but you could also here artist who were ...Dilla adjacent.
I just use to love that it was a party where you can hear all the music that you love but wouldn't necessarily hear at a regular party in the city. I think by narrowly focusing to Dilla music it loses the "Gee what will they play next" fun of it.
Just my 2 cents.

and i kind felt similarly as well
DJs honestly get kind of weird/nervous about spinning our event and they too forget sometimes that this is a party. they just want to get obscure with it.
but the DJs did a great job overall.
we're already planning for next year. we reached out to a DJ for DAF9 that couldn't make it but REALLY wants to do it and we are working to make it happen for next year. if it happens, i'll be floating!!!

i had a good time got to see folks i hadn't in a while parler killed his set i liked raichous' set too
busta rhymes came through and told a great story about dilla i wish he would've been there earlier when it was packed so he could've seen just how many ppl were there
my slight itty bitty suggestion is having the headliners on earlier but maybe their schedules didn't permit
oh also the old ppl coalition would like the organizers to consider a day party

Drove through a mess of Hassidic Jewish neighborhoods and taxis trying to box me out. NYers are aggresive, but Texans are just crazy. So we made it. Had the tickets sent home so no will call line which is great because it was cold as fuck. Also got to coat check before that closed signed up for food and was set.
DJ Tara had some old shirts (#7) and a small for this years so we were able to have wearable merch rather than just commemorative stuff.
Must've run into like five people that Ive known for various parts of life, it was really great seeing faces and having fun.
We didn't dance much because of the day's head injury but had a great time right at the front of the stage.
I like what was said above "more Dilla adjacent music" would've been welcomed and also for Brooklyn Bowl to bring back the punch. And one more request have BB sell donuts that night, that'd be great.
But look at what I'm "complaining" about donuts and booze requests. That's how good the event was. The staff is on point, the DAF organizers look like yall enjoy each other, the people are fun, the drinks are reasonable, the food can be great, and the whole thing is only $5.
So from me and mine, thank you. Looking forward to #10.
