"Recommend a basketball shoe"

I started hooping again a couple of weeks ago. I'm wearing a pair of lightly-used (I bought them new) Hyperizes from '09. I like the fit and weight, but there's not enough cushioning in the fore-foot for my liking.

I'm considering these. They aren't hideous, they have zoom air in the forefoot and the price is unbeatable.

Anyone have any experience with them? Any other recommendations?

I used to be hyper-athletic...I could touch the top of the square, go between the legs and dunks and shit. I had a respectable handle, but no jumper of which to speak.

After a few years off, the athleticism is gone, as is the handle. I still play good defense and I'm effective in the post on height alone, but I wouldn't say I can hoop anymore.

Some of the best shoes I've hooped in

I bought them because I need hella ankle support. Mine are brittle at this point after spraining them over and over again during my playing days.

Even if you don't need that support it's nice to have it. I cringe at these new low top ball shoes the kids wear nowadays

Really only had one complaint. They are a bit tight around the ankles at first. But Once u break them in you're good

and what type of baller u are

i prefer the hyperdunks to the hyperfuses just bc of how light they are and bc they cut out a lot of the extra sliding in the shoe (narrow feet)

they can be a little harsh on the toes if you have fingers for toes like me but that's any shoe...it's enough cushion and support all around...good traction...light as hell

mainly impact protection from jumping?

or are you getting your dogs stepped on a lot?

if it's the latter than stay away from my reco lol bc i once got a case of black toe rocking these...but i still like them a ton performance wise

i'd sacrfice a bit of weight for full toe enclosure if that's your major "toe" concern...

i have extremely long toes and i'm unwilling to sacrifice the lightness and the comfy squeeze of the hyperdunks...

but if you just need good impact protection...u good

something like a nike air max actualizer might be a better idea to balance shoe weight with toe protection...

most of my toe issues from before was moreso bc my nails grow mad fast and you have to keep them very short to avoid black toe in any shoe

hyper dunks are much more narrower than hyperfuse

with concrete charlie riding hard for under armor i would strongly suggest finding a pair of underarmor sneakers on sale and trying those out
