I'm not ready to commit to a dog full time but I think I can take on the responsibility of sheltering a dog for a few weeks from time to time

we're not quite ready to get another dog yet either. it's kinda nice not having the responsibility for now. one day, but not yet. so yeah, that's something i'd be open to doing.

they supply you with food, supplies, health care

the dogs just need a place to feel safe for two weeks to three months

..like humans, fostering dogs is often a difficult task.

even the most experienced foster homes deal with a wide variety of issues that come along with sheltering. every dog has a unique personality, as well as history that may/may not present challenges for the foster parents. unlike full adoption, fostering never really gives you the time to truly get comfortable. there's a rhythm to fostering that's essential to a stress free environment.

and yes, its never really easy to see them leave. even the most mischievous dog can warm your heart on a bad day.
