What have we copped recently? What are we lusting after? What are our predictions for the future? What do you want to buy, but aren't completely sold on.

Really, really high quality. They're made in the same Arkansas factory that makes Frye boots. I've never given Frye a look, but now I'm legitimately curious.

I got the link late that night by my sister and was like, "ehh, already got a pair of solid timbs fo the winter"

Then you posted that pair the next day and I was like, "Shit, who knew Timberland had joints like those"...order went out but I never got them

My sister was doing the Christmas day gift dance when we went to go visit our parents and her free pair was waiting for her there.

gained some weight that im trying to work off. Made me realize that some of my jeans were a little too much on the '20 year old hipster' side of skinny.

So this year is a chance to buy some nice solid joints. Outside of that, I realized that i copped like 4 blazers last year that I have hardly worn....im hoping to start rocking them in the spring. It's going to be an interesting experiment, im trying to not come off as black college professor.

I do a lot more walking now that I live city center and my socks are starting to get A LITTLE thin.

Also, as I have a tendency to give away my hankies (I buy them cheap, I ain't tripping) I've noticed the supplies are getting low.

Time to re-up.

Florsheim by Duckie Brown, on the other hand (in my limited experience) is not so great. The materials are middle-of-the road, and the finishing is a little on the sloppy side. Although I may just have a bad pair.

they look really distressed and run over, by design, but they're some really really well made shoes, that have way more arch support than I thought.

As for the Duckie Browns, I picked up the laceless wingtips (and promptly put laces in'em, lol) and the saddle shoes. Haven't rocked the saddles yet, but the wingtips are comfortable as hell...like the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

I'll prolly cop a nice pair of Car Shoe driving loafers too. Alternate between them and the blue penny loafers on our casual Friday's since sneakers can't be worn at all.

The driving shoes:
http://www.carshoe.com/it/en/collection/man/product/kud600-lva-f0007-driving-shoes-suede-bordeaux

I'm doing more color with my shoes since the majority of my closet is filled with some shade of brown as it relates to dress shoes. The most bland shoe I've bought in the last couple of months is this one by To Boot.

normal of cognac, tan, brown, etc.

I bought my first pair of Gucci shoes (chocolate brown oxfords) last October as a birthday gift to myself. The fit of those shoes is awesome. Spent damned near $80 just to potect the heel and sole. So, I decided I'd get another pair but they had to be a staple item that I could definitely keep forever. Something that could be dressed up or down where I could rock with jeans/chinos and a plain white t-shirt if I wanted to.

Considering a pair of their horsebit loafers as a gift to myself this year. Since I don't like black shoes, there will some flavor of brown that I can indulge myself in.

I just copped my first pair of chelseas...in BLACK, no less. I needed a shoe to wear to clubs to Vegas clubs that don't allow sneakers. My only black shoes are cap-toe oxfords and albert slippers.

and I EBAYED them. I couldn't commit serious loot to that purchase.

I got these for ~300 on sale. Not CHEAP, but also not in the rarefied air either. after letting all my high-end kicks marinade, i've realized that I end up not wearing them because they are such an investment and I don't want to see the scuffed up by my dad life.

also, imo, the jump in comfort/quality from mid-to high end isn't that big. it's really more about how much one cares about customization, crazy leathers, whether or not something is handmade, etc.

once you cut all that out, you can get something you're really happy with for a relatively affordable price.
