a lot of CDs were going for $3.99 a few weeks back... i'd still rather have a CD and rip it to MP3 or do whatever i want with it than pay double for just a lossy digital format

I tried to replace my copy of Bush Babees Gravity a while back and it wasn't the original version. Amazon has fulfillment centers and they will print up copies of Cds there. Above the bar code on the one I received from them it had Made in Lexington, KY printed above it.

i have this aunt who asks me for a christmas list every year. CDs are one of my few vices/luxuries, and i like shopping for myself because i know what it should cost, what i would pay, and so forth. anyway, i gave her a short list a few years back and she got one of those so-called professional CD-Rs from amazon. the "about" section of the page should always say something to the effect of made using manufacturing on demand technology, and that's what it means. i'd never received one of these before and was so disappointed. the packaging looked like it was printed on an inkjet. anyway, i got a refund and got to keep it (i gave it away and reordered it from another site that sold the real version, not a CD-R). not long after this, amazon removed the MOD version for sale.
if my only choice is MOD, based on what i've seen firsthand and read, i'd rather have nothing.

This Cuban definitely doesn't have the purple jewel case...I found a used copy at a local FYE for 7 bucks...I celebrated that evening.
But yeah the reprinted albums always pisses me off. I copped Bilal the other day and it had the remix of Fast Lane on it. I was mad as hell...I was ready to rap Jada's verse and shit and bam...all different.
Not to mention the artwork is cheaply printed and looks like a homemade job.

It could be official. It won't come with the purple case though. Just check over the barcode when you receive it and make sure it doesn't say made in Lexington, KY.
