We've been working on this for over a year, combing over research materials and securing interviews from people on the front lines of this fight, and we're finally ready to start filming. And many Native scholars dispute Goddard's study, too. so, there's that.

Also, the Huron/Wyandot TRIBE was happy with the logo so who, exactly, are you to be outraged at something when the people it represents are not?

i mean the act of making a group a mascot is in and of itself offensive

The city of Ypsilanti, where EMU is located, was once a Huron/Wyandot village. There's lots of Native history in that area that has pretty much been written out of the narrative of the state (shit... Natives are pretty much gone from the narrative of the country!) so to have even a little something that says "we were here" that gets even a few people to look into the history behind the name is better than vanishing all together.
