For reasons not worth going into at the moment, I've had a terrible last week or so, and I was having a terrible day before I came to GD this afternoon.

Some of you I've hung out with, some of you I've met, some of you I've never met but with whom I interact pretty frequently on here, some of you with whom I interact less so. A few of you I occasionally disagree with. And some from each of those aforementioned groups took the time to reply to something silly written about me with something nice.

Those tiny gestures, made thoughtfully or made on impulse, took someone who was really down and gave him a little boost. Which was all he really needed today.

I hope to meet more of you.
