They keep the same cop in the school and their roll is more or less like a gaurd of the school. They typically stay by the main entrance to the school. If something pops off, they will step in, but they mainly make sure people sign in and no one comes in to shoot up the school. At my kid's high school the officer waits with kids for late pick ups, directs traffic for drop offs and pick ups, he's the first one at the school and the last to leave, he knows all the kids by name, his name is officer johnson and the kids nicknamed him oj. He is friendly and is more like a staff person than a police officer.

Just like that Smh
The girl shouldn't have mouthed off but the officer is the grown up and a trained professional. She handled everything poorly.
Ps this reminds of being in the same school with all my siblings and about 10 cousins. Every altercation involving one of us quickly escalated into a riot because we would always show up for each other once the bat signal was thrown up...lol...even the girls would jump in
At one point, there were 10 of us at one school. My middle sister was always fighting but was a straight A student and in MG, so they wouldn't kick her out. Whenever she had a problem we'd all jump in. I know they were glad when we all finally left.
