"Doomsday Clock advanced 2 minutes this week. Now 11:57"
Thu Jan-29-15 05:43 PM by cgonz00cc

EDIT for link: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_Clock

Closest to midnight since 30 years ago when the US put medium range missiles in Europe

First Russia invaded Ukraine and now we are revamping our arsenal 5 years after our President won the NPP for nuclear non-proliferation.

But that was only for one minute. The other minute was for humanity's total unwillingness to fight global warming.

Last time it was 11:58 people were building bomb shelters in their backyards.

Im not certain my lifespan will be entirely nuke free. There are some crazy seeming people in the world with nuclear weapons.

And being anti-environment is a plus politically in some circles. Which continues to be very weird to me

are you saying that because scientists created this clock which basically shows how close we are to destroying our world and or ourselves that these scientists must therefore be in support of the idea that we can save ourselves from our own corruptible, self destructive, nature? A nature even mathematics seems to support as being based on selfishness and not selflessness? I haven't lied about a thing.

That was a lie, because this group of prominent scientists just said things are more dangerous now than last year at this time

Thats the opposite of science saying that things are getting better.

Whenever I refer to science saying things are getting better I am in 100% sarcasm mode. It goes back to when Bloocollar was posting on here about how advances in science will improve human nature. There are some other folks who like to fly that flag as well, but not me.

when the science is dependent on the very same humans with a rather poor track record of controlling their own nature for its practice. Bloocollar and other seem to have forgotten that science is only as the people practicing it.

Rest In Peace, Bad News Brown

It's these other fools trying to spend less on research like space travel that will eventually be the only way humanity survives.

Scientists see that unless people wake up, we are going to destroy this planet someday, and are trying to find ways out
