Been reliving some childhood memories through the WWE Network and he really is head and shoulders above almost anyone else that did color commentary. Whenever I see a wrestler pick up a weapon my brain shouts "HE'S GONNA WAFFLE HIM WITH IT!"
Jesse Ventura gets an honorable mention for managing to play a Heel Commentator that you would still go for a beer with.
Jerry Lawler has NEVER troubled either of their legacies.

I remember not having access to whatever show it happened on in the UK and surviving off stills and commentator references for MONTHS until a tape finally found its way to me. Felt HUGE when it happened... The Rockers had been my favourites since I'd got into wrestling in the mid/late 80s and this was the first time wrestling pulled a heel turn that HURT.
And I'm STILL Team Jannetty... I never once bought HBK as a face... dude irreparably broke my fucking heart. IRREPARABLY.

It was a shame that his last few WWF years were wasted in the booth. I wish they would have let him and his brother interact when they were both heels.

I know WCW and WWE did faux gay gimmicks in the 90s and early 00's, but seeing Adrian Adonis go from a biker gimmick to in the 80s definitely would not be done today.

The legend goes that before the promo happened, they already gave the kid and his mother the money and let him know it was all an act. And still the kid thought after Dibiase kicked the ball away that he'd lost the money. So that look of pain and bewilderment on his face is real.

I remember thinking that Morton had a chance to win the belt when I was a kid.
I wish WWE would surprise us now and again by using the occasional house show to further a storyline. Something could happen on a weekend show and they could use social media to get people hyped to see the follow-up on Raw.
